5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Discovery of Divine Understanding!, September 30, 2004
This review is from: The Vision is Here  (Paperback)
I have read "The Vision Is Here" and it is as though it's coming alive within my daily walk with God. As I read through the book it's as though, I am experiencing very vivid feelings perhaps as the writer felt during the vision and his research of the vision. It felt (to me) that Mr. McSwain was taking me on a far distant journey (as I read) into a place that only the heart and soul can travel. I have sought a closer walk with God throughout my life; however, out the many visits to church (in the past) it seemed I could not get break the barrier called religious taboos brought about by the unknown of scriptural understanding and many fears of seeking out answers for the meaning of life from The Most High God; however, when it comes to the vision, it opens up an understanding in me that far surpasses any fears I had accumulated through the years of my own search of God and divine understanding of why I am alive today and where I came from. I believe that anyone that reads "The Vision Is Here" will come to know something, perhaps an answer, that they have themselves, have asked deep inside of their own being. "The Vision Is Here" challenges the modern-day ideas and concepts; while offering (alternative) indisputable answers for many of the unknown mysteries that mankind has struggled to overcome for untold years. Without any question in my mind our world has awakened to another seerer of the strange and unusual; in fact, I have no doubt the prophecy of Habakkuk 2 the prophet has unfolded in our day and time, and I am very confident (after reading Mr. McSwain's book) the "vision" is here!

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Vision, September 27, 2004

The Vision Is Here by Jerry McSwain

Review by Cindy Bell

After the judge gives Jerry the option of either going to jail or to rehab, Jerry chooses rehab. He knows going in that rehab will not help him. Drugs had not helped in the past either, but it had been his only way of escaping reality. While there, Jerry finds friends and mentors, but reality is a bitter pill to swallow, and the real Jerry did not wish to stand for these people.

Depression continues its foggy shadow over him, and finally, he plans his escape. Alone, he finds himself standing before a hospital mirror, fully contemplating a bloody end to his world. They would find him in a heap on the bathroom floor and it would all be over.

"Oh my God, am I dead?" No. God has other plans for Jerry as the vision takes form before him. He stares into the mirror, not believing the things he is seeing; a vision from God of which Jerry does not yet understand.

When it is over, he has no idea of how long he has been standing there. He has no idea of whether or not any of it has really happened at all, that is, until a night time visitor spells it out for him.

He is seven foot tall and dressed in black. He paces at the foot of Jerry's bed as a roaring lion about to pounce on its prey. "I know you, Jerry!" he roars.
Can we imagine anything more terrifying than having Satan know us? If there is anything worse, I would have to say that it would be having him pacing at the foot of my bed on a dark night while I am alone. "You will not tell anyone what you have seen!" he tells Jerry. After several threats about keeping the vision to himself, he leaves Jerry's room.

Jerry decides that if Satan wants it kept quiet, there must be something to it. He turns to God for help and for the next several years, he studies his Bible relentlessly and discovers the truth. What is the truth?

The truth is that Satan is necessary to God's plan. Satan is real. He lives. He is in our homes, our schools, our government, and even in our churches. He has the power of utter destruction, but only if we allow him to have that power. After reading this true story of a true vision by Jerry McSwain, my life changed. I no longer give Satan the power because `The Vision Is Here' brings us to the realization of just how small Satan really is compared to our Almighty God. Jerry McSwain no longer lives the life of a drug addict. He lives for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Though he battles Satan on a daily basis, `The Vision Is Here' was written, proving to us that God has the power. A definite five stars goes to Mr. McSwain's worthy effort in exposing Satan for what he really is!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Long Overdue Book, January 11, 2011

This review is from: The Vision is Here  (Paperback)
My first experience with "The Vision is Here" started when Jerry was still working on the final copy. Like those he describes who are lost in the emotionally and spiritually defeated world we live in, I was struggling. I had only read a Genesis and Revelations in the Bible so I was very much "a babe in Christ," if not an embryo. I initially took to the book with a great deal of reservation, though my interest was peaked. I read the draft and even tried to rewrite it as we agreed but I couldn't finish it. The book angered me in so many different ways that I ultimately couldn't grasp it. Even the exclamation points he used angered me. I just didn't get it and had to hand it back to him mostly as is, halfway read.

That was in 2000-03. Since then the book has been published and I have progressed in my understanding of spiritual matters, able to better handle the ideas contained within "The Vision is Here." I won't say that I completely understand "The Vision" (I've only read it in its published form once) but I will say that it has changed my life. I was in such spiritual darkness prior to reading the book, partly due to my own actions and partly due to the course my life had taken, that I didn't realize how blind I was.

"The Vision is Here" doesn't shove Christian doctrine down your throat, expecting you to accept it. It doesn't tell you what you should do or shouldn't do, or how to live your life or what you can do to become closer to God. Bible verses are referred to and quoted for those interested in verifying his claims. But it does give you a connection to God that has yet to be presented to the general public. If you think you are ready for a book that doesn't rely on the Bible as the sole means of verifying God's existence, and anything else in this review resonates with you, then I highly recommend this book.
