A fun read!,

This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Abby Cooper returns for another installment in the Psychic Eye series. Abby, her sister Cat, and Abby's handyman Dave create an investment company to purchase and renovate real estate. Their first purchase is haunted- to the point that Dave is chased out of the home by his own chainsaw. Meanwhile, Abby's boyfriend, Dutch Rivers, is on medical leave after being shot in the rear end. Abby begins investigating the history of the home and discovers a missing treasure with links to Nazi Germany during World War II. Abby relies on her spirit guides to provide her with leads on the case. In addition, Abby, along with those closest to the case, are being stalked by an unknown assailant. The relationship between Abby and Dutch is also explored further in this novel as they each must learn how to give up some of their independence without sacrificing who they are. I won't spoil the mystery by telling how it all ends. After all, half the fun of this series is watching Abby solve the mystery using the assistance and clues provided by her guides. This series is always a fun read!

Well Done,

This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Psychic Abby Cooper invests in a fixer-upper with her sister, Cat, and handyman Dave. Abby takes a month off from doing psychic readings to fix up her own house and the fixer-upper. Those plans are changed when her boyfriend, FBI agent Dutch Rivers, is shot and she has to nurse him back to health. Abby does work on the fixer-upper whenever she can but work stops when she and Dutch spot the ghost of a beautiful blonde which disappears before their eyes. Abby has already had visions about the house and now her psychic ability is telling her that the blonde woman had been murdered. When Abby and Dave's houses are both broken into and Abby is attacked, she realizes someone or something is trying to keep her away from the house. But when Abby finds a box hidden in the house and has another psychic vision about the woman, she knows she has to find the killer, even though Dutch is vehemently opposed to her getting involved. When Abby's office is broken into by someone searching for the box and another person is murdered, she is more determined than ever to find the killer.
"A Vision of Murder" is a well written, well done mystery. The psychic elements are very believable. Author Victoria Laurie does a great job describing how the psychic mind works, saying Abby's visions are a sensation like a telephone ringing in another room, only they are in Abby's head. Even though Abby is on vacation, she still has a chance to help people with her psychic ability which makes for some of the most interesting parts of the book. Abby's ability to tell if someone is dead merely by looking at their photo is also interesting. Abby is a very real heroine with some real problems, most noticeably the relationship with her uncaring parents. It's her relationship with other people that help make her such a great characters, especially her long-distance friendship with Medium Theresa; her friendship with handyman Dave, who will do literally anything to help her; and her friendship with her sister Cat. Her relationship with Dutch is one of best written parts of the book, the arguments they have are very realistic. And Abby's attempts to take their relationship to another level are some of the funniest parts of the book. There are other humorous moments, like the protective gear Dave wears when going into the haunted house. Another funny scene involves Cat, a bulldozer, and a police car. The mystery itself is nicely plotted, although there's never much doubt about who the murderer is. Finally, while Victoria Laurie introduces a new character, M.J. Holliday, who now has a series of her own, she does it so that M.J. fits right into the storyline rather than as a promo for the new series. "A Vision of Murder" is a great mystery. Highly recommended.

A Vision of Success,
By
This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was hooked on the first book because of the way Victoria Laurie writes such interesting stories from a different perspective.
I was very tired of the same old portrayal of Psychics being "scam artist" and "kooks". I love this series because Abby Cooper is a common person who, because of her gift, lives an extraordinary life. The third in the series deals with all the common elements we loved in the first two, along with a great mystery, murder, wonderful relationships, a haunting, and redemption. A perfect combination with something for everyone. This series is sure to continue to be a great success. Thank you, Ms. Laurie, for knowing just what we wanted!

Abby Cooper, psychic intuitive is back along with her hunkie boyfried Dutch, sweetie Milo, crazy Cat, and her darling pooch Eggy. Cat, Abby, and Abby's handyman Dave go into business together to rehab an old house and sell it for big bucks. Dave goes in, finds a very nasty ghost, and refuses to go back. Abby has to find out why the house is haunted, and solve the mystery involved with this house. This book is very funny, especialy the parts involving Abby's sister Cat and her difficulties with the parents. The sexual tension between Abby and Dutch just grows and grows, and they find themselves frustrated at every turn. It is a great book. I have read it x 2 now and enjoyed it tremendously each time. Victoria Laurie has three books now in print. Go buy them all, sit back with a snack or two, and enjoy many fun hours of reading.

Victoria Laurie had an idea for a series of novels that is unique - not only do we meet an excellent psychic, Abby Cooper, we see the woman and her responsibilities and integrity. She has a life away from the office, with a hunk of a boyfriend Dutch, a handy man, Dave, a wildly funny sister, Cat, a cute pooch Eggy. This series also shows the layperson what a psychic goes through and the consequenses of their words. While this series has it all - mystery, adventure, romance, paranormal, Ms. Laurie educates us regarding the world of the paranormal - what is a psychic, medium, 'ghostbuster', ectoplasm. And she does it with a light touch that doesn't get in the way of the story - Also the story takes place in an area of Michigan I used to live in so it makes it more special -
This series is hitting its stride and Ms. Laurie has quite a following. If you like the books, as I do, go to her website - she is a gifted psychic and I am impressed not only by her gift, but how very nice she is. Keep 'em coming Victoria! We love this series! As an aside, those who have written Amazon telling me your paranormal experiences - I have tried to email back but do not know if I did the Amazon contacts correctly - I would enjoy talking to kindred spirits - so don't think I have not tried to reply - Again, A Vision of Murder is full of everything you look for in a book - and as a great fan cannot recommend it enough.

Abby Cooper has become my favorite amateur PI. The premise of this series, a young woman private detective who has strong psychic abilities which she uses to solve cases, is original and fun to read. Abby is a psychic, but she also has the same trials and tribulations of a normal young woman, money, sibling and romance issues. In this latest book, Abby, her sister Cat, and Abby's handyman Dave, buy and plan to renovate a house, only the house turns out to be haunted! Poor Dave, Abbey's partner and handyman, is attacked by his own chainsaw as he begins the renovation! Determined to find out what's going on, Abby begins investigating the history of the home and discovers a missing treasure with ties to WWII Nazi Germany. In order to solve the mystery, Abby depends on her spirit guides to help her on the case. There is danger for Abby and her friends from an unknown stalker and the romance between Abby and Dutch becomes more intense as they each must sacrifice some of their independence to become a real couple. Ms. Laurie has a great series going here, and I look forward to reading more Abby mysteries.

Laurie's got talent!!,
By Jessica S. "Vamp Girl" (Missouri) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The third installment of the Abby Cooper series is another hit! The Abby Cooper series is the perfect mystery series with an added mix of supernatural!! This novel even intorduces M.J. Holliday, Laurie's lead character in her new Ghost Hunter Series!
In A Vision of Murder, Abby, her sister Cat and Dave buy a rundown house together in order to fix it up and sell it to make a profit. But the downside is that the house is haunted and Dave refuses to work on the house as that the ghost attacked him on his first day. Thus leading Abby to contact M.J. Abby begins to work on the case of the haunted house along with Dutch and Milo, that leads to a cover up murder and many family secrets of that of a jeweler. Abby is determined to solve the case no matter what, but there is someone trying to stop her and he will go to any means to stop her, by ranscaking her house, office, and attacking her. Which ultimately leads to problems with Abby and Dutch and trust issues. But Abby will be able to save the day and still make everyone happy! Overall it is a great read just as all of the Psychic Eye mysteries are! They read so fast and grip you in that it seems that reality doesn't exist!

Supernatural Client Meets Psychic,
This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The first supernatural client, a lady ghost, of Abby Cooper cannot articulate her despair to Abby to solve her mysterious death. So, Abby thru her friend Theresa, a medium takes her through to the other world that fires her resolve to solve the mystery of the ghost sighting.
This book swings into two different worlds, the supernatural evoking skepticism, disbelief & fear for ghost sightings in a haunted house for those who witnessed it and the power of psychic intuition to bring logic & analysis to these sightings. As usual, Victoria Laurie balances humour, wit and bickering among her characters with finesse. There was some dangling bits towards the ending as the whereabouts of the final burial spot of the lady ghost who died mysteriously was never mentioned. The how & where did the murderer dispose of her body remains a mystery. A new character in the form of a lady ghostbuster, MJ, is introduced in this book. MJ will be the protagonist in the spinoff for the new series on ghostbusting by Victoria Laurie. Can't wait to read this new series!

Won me over,
By
This review is from: A Vision of Murder (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was skeptical about this book. Not that I'm a skeptic by nature--in fact, I believe in intuition and psychic abilities. I was skeptical, however, that the author could make this type of trait in a protagonist work in a mystery without making it all seem a little too easy. But the author won me over and I tremendously enjoyed the book's highly original plot. The sister and parents didn't do much for me, but then again, I haven't read the first two books in the series, so maybe those characters are just there for continuity? At any rate, I highly recommend this book.
