I appreciate his passion to aim higher and do everything he could to achieve his dreams. Personally, I am not exactly sure what Bulcha wanted his readers to know about his life. I am not even sure what he considers as the biggest achievement in his life. It is clear from his book that he came from a remote area of Ethiopia, walked two hours daily to go to school and later on managed to be go to the USA to study and became a big government official. I get that very well. What I am missing in the story is the Bulcha who is the father and the husband. What type of family life did he have? What type of father was he? What type of husband was he?
Dear Mr. Bulcha I really have a question for you. Why didn’t you say much about your first wife Menbere? What happened to her? Is that a sensitive topic to talk about? Wasn’t she the woman who accepted you for who you were when you had nothing; when you were a poor boy with your heavy accent, as you put it? Wasn’t she the one who gave you those five beautiful children? Wasn’t Menbere who took care of your children when you went abroad to pursue your dream? Do you even realize how much she sacrificed in order for you to achieve your dreams? Do you? I think you should have dedicated one chapter for your first wife, Menbere Duguma? We don’t even have a single picture of her. I was very disappointed. It looks like you used Menbere to achieve your goals. How can the Oromo people trust you that you are there fighting for their cause and not for your won glory?Read more ›
