I really wanted to get this deck, the Photography is lovely, and does seem to make the cards stand out. Reading however is harder with this deck. The black border cuts off much of the picture, and the wood framing in some make it a darker deck. The minor arcana is simply done with each suit's number. So there are no pictures , simply 2, 3 or 4 cups etc.... while i do like reading without pictures on the minor arcana, i think it would have been much more helpful, if at least the 5 of cups had two overturned, and perhaps a dark sky. In this deck all cups are upright, filled, and the sky is blue, giving a beginner reader absolutely no clue to the meaning. Its a nice deck, but not one ill reach for alot during readings. Karen

This is a difficult deck to read. The minor arcana cards are so simple in design that I could feel little to no impression off them. The major arcana cards are very well done. It's unfortunate that the minor arcana are so plain.
I personally had difficulties in reading with this deck as it would rarely throw out cards that made sense in a given reading. I've not had this problem with my other decks. If anything, it seemed hostile at times.
This could simply be that this was not a deck for me, and it could be wonderful for someone else. Personally, however, I would like to see just a little more detail in the minor arcana cards to make them less difficult to read.

I don't generally like decks which use photographic imagery, but this one is quite beautiful. Only the 22 Major Arcana are illustrated as such, which is my only complaint, but they are all beautifully done and relate well to traditional Tarot symbolism. While this deck may not be ideal for beginners,it is certainly a must have for collectors.

With it's slightly surrealistic art- almost real life and cgi combined- this is the most beautiful deck I have ever seen. I have 4 decks, and of them all, this is my favorite. A must for anyone who collects these cards. Beautiful art, great imagery, I'd recommend this one to anyone in a heartbeat!

I aquired this deck, The Vision Tarot, secondhand from someone who absolutely hated it, they said, it's horrible, they said, why would you want it, they asked me......but I knew from my limited knowledge of seeing it online that I would probably like it. My instincts were correct in this case. It's a gentle, non-threatening tarot deck, yeah okay it has black borders, but tons of other decks do too. The black borders accentuate the medieval style photographs that are the deck's images. This is a Marseilles style deck, Not a Rider-Waite style, and if you are looking for fully illustrated minor arcana you won't find them here, these are numbered pip cards with the suit signs instead. All the cards in this deck are posed photographs that have some degree of digital alteration to make them look medieval, and they have a slightly shadowy, softer look, they aren't psychedelic or brightly illuminated, and they don't shout at you. I get a good feeling from this deck already and can tell that I'm going to enjoy using it for meditation as well as readings. The booklet that comes with it seems to be very descriptive, although I haven't read it yet I will soon. This deck was printed by Carta Mundi in Belgium on nice quality glossy cardstock and is very smooth to the touch. The back design is black with four white sword/star shapes, one to each corner, and reversible. The deck has smooth rounded corners and feels sturdy for handling. The box is cardboard with a tuck flap closure. Altogether a very pleasing deck that anyone can enjoy if they are more into the subtle styles of tarot decks, not over-the-top or garishly designed.
