I am very pleased with this card so far. I love the fact that it is passively cooled, so you can watch even the quietest movies without having to listen to fans thrumming away. The performance is good considering the price, and the inclusion of an HDMI output is great. However, there is one caveat that keeps this from getting 5 stars - you cannot use the HDMI and VGA outputs simultaneously! What's worse, this is not documented anywhere - it took me weeks of contact with Visiontek tech support to figure this out. So if you have an older (non-DVI) display that you want to use at the same time as your HDTV, be aware that you'll have to buy a DVI-to-VGA converter and plug your monitor into the DVI output.

I just needed something fairly inexpensive with an HDMI port so I can watch internet TV on my big screen TV. This worked perfectly. It has a built in sound card so both sound and picture come throught the HDMI to the TV. No fan noise and no problems!

Great card for watching Blu-ray movies
works great and even has an HDMI output.

The card runs at 600 mhz for the GPU and
400 Mhz for the memory.

This card also cuts down on heat if you are only
playing a movie the GPU runs at 300 Mhz and only
speeds up to 600 Mhz if needed, then slows down again.

If you are looking for a card to play 3D video Games
forget this card.

The Windows Experience Index on my Q6600 2.4 system with 2GB ram
Graphics Desktop Performance 3.5
3D Business and Gaming Graphics 4.0

As you could see the 3D experience is poor.
But for Blu-ray and DVD playback it's great no noise do to no fan.
a good plus is the HDMI output.

Let me start by saying that the video performance of this card is superb from the HDMI port - I wouldn't play some of the gpu intensive games on it but for typical windows video and even 1080P output, its been great so far. I am typing on my TV now and its surprisingly easy to read from across the room at full 1920 resolution. My problem is with the HDMI Audio. You don't have to believe me - check ATI/AMD's forums - they're full of complaints on how to get HDMI audio to output. I am a software engineer with over 15 years' experience dealing with Microsoft's idiosyncrasies - those oddities have kept me employed! But this is crazyiness to the max - the vendor has literally no documentation on how to get the HDMI to output audio - neither does ATI. All they recommend is that you install their catalyst software - that does NOT have any audio control functionality built in!! So! I go to control panel|sound only to find that there is no option to output the sound to any type of device other than the sound card. Device Drivers shows only the sound/audio portion of the video card to be non-functional - with the latest HDMI Audio drivers from both Realtek AND ATI installed on the machine!!! How is a non-technically savvy person to get around an issue like this? I even called tech support for ATI to see if there was a solution but all I got was the catalyst software should "do the trick" - I must not know how to click next, next properly - lol. My solution? I'll just buy a sound card with SP/Diff output so I can connect that to my receiver....NOT what I had intended...but oh well. What's frustrating is that I do not, at this time, know if the issue is with Windows XP or with the vendor's software. BTW, this is a fresh install of Windows XP - only the anti-virus and ATI software loaded so far. Oh, and for any nay-sayers, this is Windows XP SP3 which includes the HD audio bus drivers so that is not the problem.

The first card arrived DOA. I thought I had done something wrong and spent two hours messing around, but after contacting customer support they told me to return the card and get a new one. The replacement worked fine. It is a little confusing to set up dual display. Extended display works fine, but I have had a few problems getting a true Clone set up. This could be a result of the different formats of the computer display vs. the 16x9 of my Mitsubishi DLP. The HDMi output to the tv looks great, which was my primary goal in getting the card in the first place.
