This card has BIG problems!,

I got this card and it does not work with MechCommander2 or MechWarrior4! I also get problems with Max Payne and STVoy:Elite Force! I got the latest drivers and it still crashes! The FMV had a bunch of high pitched beeps when playing. Don't buy this card if you intend to play a lot of games.

Amazing performance at a low cost!!,

I found this card on sale for about 100$ give or take a few, I bought it because I needed a new card and this one caught my attention. Installation was easy, i ran into no trouble and once it was installed, WOW! the performance boost in games was great, Max Payne now looks excellent and also 2d images and animations are a bit sharper, for the price, i consider it a really good deal. Why am I giving it four stars? Because the card has no included software bundle, not even a game demo;the cd has only the nvidia technology demos, but overall it is a really great card

Thi is a good video card, not doubt, but it isn't really all that worthit. You wont be able to play up coming games like unreal II...doom III....etc.Thats why I am dreaming to upgrade to geforce4ti4600 but I dont have the money at the moment...:(.This video card was awfully fast in some game tests, like halflife and unreal...and descent3...and quake 3 arena and star trek elite force...but y'no those games are old...the new quake 3 team arena engine game jedi knight2 star wars jedi outcast isn't so good on a geforce 2 mx, you can't get such good performance when going to video quality high or higher.Normal video quality I most reccomend, and you cant go use any sort of antiliasing with out sacrifising the framrate.Geforce 2 mx is underpowered for todays games, not for older games. It works great with those.Even with the power of the pentium4 processor, it does make a difference, but in some areas still doesn't satisfie me.I would considerthe geforce 2 mx compared to todays video cards standard. I was going to get geforce 3, it is much better, but still will lagg alittle bit, all though is a heck of alot better than geforce 2 mx will ever be. But I really want geforce 4 ti4600, that is my dream video card. When I get the money, I will buy it.And I will see what everyone is talking about. Besides the point, geforce 2 isn't so good for games, I dont reccomend it to anygamer unless its older games and not current or future.:(

This is a nice little video card, NO matter what game I play in I experienece too much lagg, its too slow ... Its good for 2d games, thats it. And for the early 3d games. I tried the unreal II demo with it and it ran pretty slow. I wasnt satisfied. I also have a geforce 3, and it runs much smoother. THis is a not worth it video card unless your a light gamer or student comp type user. I really dont think its a good video card. and I can tell you 4 more words about buying this vid card:It aint worth it.Take my advice!

This card comes with SDR (slow memory) not good for overclockin.ATI 7500 much better deal, for same price that includes DDR memory. Overall is not a bad card, but slow for games!

So far it has worked well. I also have a Hercules 3D Prophet 3, which is still the best GeForce 3 card on the market. This GeForce 2 doesn't perform like the GeForce 3, but it works just fine for every game I've played with it. Good card for the money.

I bought this card about a year ago to replace my old Voodoo 3 card and have had 0 (ZERO) problems with it. I have over 200 games and play about 50 of them on a regular basis: Max Payne, Independence War 2, Soldier of Fortune, Blood, Red Faction, Freespace 2, Starlancer, X-Wing Alliance and a bunch of old DOS games with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL on my Win98 SE machine using the VisionTek card. I think people having problems should download the driver upgrade, maybe that will help. Why not 5 stars? I would like better performance from the card in terms of frame rates, but that is why I am getting a Geoforce 3 card. But c'mon, for the price you really can't do much better than this.

Not the best for gaming,

When I bought this card, I thought I was getting the best from last year at a low price. I was shocked at how poorly it actually performed. I "upgraded" to this card from a Voodoo2 PCI and can barely tell a difference in performance. In almost all 3d games, it has small hesitations (unexpected choppiness) when trying to deal with fast graphics. It's not like the predictable rythmic choppiness of cheap cards. This makes real-time game-play impossible as it stops the processing momentarily, as if somebody's hitting a "pause" button. After I installed this card under Windows ME, the entire systems seems to be having problems. The system seems to get slower the longer it stays running. After a few days without rebooting, there's a 10-15 second delay on simple tasks like double clicking on a folder. After a reboot, it's back to normal. I did not have these problems before installing the card. I have a 1.4 ghz Pentium 4 machine with 640 mb RAM, so it's not the system itself. I cannot get it to run some of the older games at all, like Monster Truck Madness and Quake II. They just lock up and won't respond on startup. Don't waste your money on this thing. For a good "not-the-newest-technology" graphics option, go for a Voodoo 4500 or 5500 or just spend the extra $$ and get a Geforce 3.

A great Geforce 2 card,

This is a very good, bargain card that will provide crisp 2d performance for the PC as well as being able to run a fair amount of games. For a student or light gamer/computer user, this is the perfect card: inexpensive, good performance, sharp image-quality, and a great chipset backing it up! If you're still hanging onto your older graphics card, upgrade now: your eyes will be less strained, your text will be sharper, and your games will be faster and better than ever!

Is this waht we have to deal with now that 3Dfx is out?,

Take a (...)bill, a ligted match, put them together and stand well back. This would cause you less wasted time and stress then to use your (...)bill for the purchase of this card. Installation was easy but configuring the system to work with the darn thing is another story. Fiddling with IRQ#'s and messing around with BIOS and Mother Board Drivers and my 3Dfx Voodoo3 PCI still works better, even with a fourth of the video memory compared to the GeForces 64MB. The card will NOT run Black & White, one of my favorite games. But hey if you like Distorted shadow and fog effects, choppy cinemas, magical disapearing menus, and to be able to have your computer shut down for you as if to tell you you've played enought today, then this card is for you! have at it.
