The good:
1. Sound is quite acceptable in both loudness and quality; if anything, I'm impressed at the audio quality considering the size.
2. It's no-nonsense to use and operate; Bluetooth and card both work well.
3. The manual says battery is non-replaceable, but my model uses a Nokia phone battery. I was able to find 3rd party spares for as little as 5-7 bucks each, which gives me virtually unlimited playtime :)
4. It's the perfect size to carry and place everywhere

The bad:
1. Main problem is NO SHUFFLE/RANDOM functionality. It always starts from song #1. This *severely* limits usability of the microSD card / independent playing: you can put 100, 1,000, or 10,000 songs - you'll pretty much always hear just the first 20 [and get pretty sick of them too]. If you're only planning to use it as Bluetooth device, this doesn't really matter. If you're hoping to use it independently, it's basically a deal-breaker in an otherwise nifty machine.
2. Much more minor issue - the volume vs skipping control system is needlessly wonky; they could have just put a dedicated skip vs volume buttons instead of user-selectable combo system.

I got this as a portable speaker to replace puny laptop speakers and carry in my backpack, and it fits the bill. Bluetooth works great. The fact that the battery fades after a couple of hours lets me go to sleep listening. Robust design and decent sound quality and overall I'm a happy user.

The Good:
Small device with volume controls that allow you to use all of the amplifier
3.7A/1000MA is good battery size compared to some competitors
Same volume as a red bull can - just a little shorter and expanded into a rectangle
Found Groupon deal, plus had coupon so I got for a bit less than current retail

The bad:
Not audiophile sound quality. I have a Ihome ($20 speaker) and a Marley Chant ($50 speaker) and both of them sound better. The I-home has a fuller bass response. The Marley Chant is very high quality in sound, unfortunately it doesn't go loud enough. At $50 for this speaker there are simply many better options, although Bluetooth narrows the field somewhat.

The ugly:
Bought it, treated it gently, it broke right away. The volume up button on the device no longer works. No volume, no speaker. It turns on, makes pretty lights, but nada. Purchased 07/18/13. Tried to register on the RockDoc website, but it claims "Date format seems invalid." in the date of purchase field. I have tried every conceivable date combination, with dashes, slashes, year in front, all numbers, you name it. I sent an email to the company's Support page asking how to register the product and the problem with the webpage 08/31, no response so far. So, it's now a paperweight...hopefully they redeem themselves.

Update 10/19/13:
They responded back in a week, created a service order after two weeks. I have to pay one way shipping to them, traceable in a box (reasonable). Yet, at $13(ish) to send it back to them just can't bring myself to spend that on it; maybe my kid will.

Using for sound on a portable video setup.
Far exceeded my hopes. Frequency response is excellent. Impressive engineering on the diaphragm design, hoping it will hold up. Blue tooth is a snap, battery great.
Removable SD micro chip works well. Physically tiny and well made.

Downside: 1/ Playing from SD chip seems to be linear, i.e. no folder, sub-folder options.
2/ Instructions are nearly un-readable. Nothing I have found on the web.

Overall: Worth the money. Superior quality, congrats to mfg on a great little item.

The Pitbull Rockdoc player has great sound, nice size, and packaging. Two issues for me make this player not a good MP3 player.
(1) If you have a large Micro SD card installed ( I used 32 m/bytes) and play several songs before turning it off. After a few hours of being off, the player will reset and when turned back on, it will start at song #1 again. It will not remember the last song played, and will not begin from the last song played. When you have several hundred songs loaded, you will never get to hear the later songs on the Micro SD card, since it will reset when turned off and always starts again from the starting #1 song.
(2) There is no way to scramble or random play the songs loaded on the Micro SD card. It always begins at song #1 and plays until it is turned off in sequence of the song order loaded on the card.

These two features make this a very limited and less than useful device.

Roger

Can't project bass that well but for it's size.... it's the best.
Great flexibility with the Bluetooth wireless, memory card and direct usb connect for sound. The sound is much better than laptop or phone spkrs.

I got this as a gift. Nice sound for the size.. Not too difficult to use.

BUT! The micro usb input jack became dislodged and slipped into the box. I was able to open the box. The usb jack is loosely fitted into its slot and secured with a little bit of adhesive. Shoddy, to say the least. It is not surprising that it failed. I am going to try to superglue this thing back into place; but there really isn't much surface for it to stick to. My guess is that it will last for a while and then fail again.

This device is poorly designed and likely to fail after repeated use. It is unusable without a micro usb jack. For the price, you should find something that is more solidly built.
