Best PCI video card I have ever used.,

If you need a PCI video card for any reason, get this one. It is stable, works great with ATI drivers, and is amazingly fast. It seems to perform as well as my old ATI AGP card, which I had to retire when I switched to an nForce4 PCI-E motherboard.
This card is now my primary video card, and it works so well that I have no real reason to upgrade to a PCI-E card! PS--With WinXP this card may not recognize your monitor's max refresh rate, so you may need to set it manually with the Catalyst software. This is easy to do, though.

Short and sweet folks. Be leery buying this card unless you have an older operating system (pre-vista) as this card not only does not support vista/win 7, there are no drivers available for it. I'm sure for older operating systems, it may be a decent card, but it is completely unusable on a modern OS.
In my opinion, Amazon should force third party vendors to disclose this information in the product description. Granted, I should have done my homework and researched this outside of Amazon, but I didn't. My bad. Sending mine back...

You can hook up two monitors to this, and if you already have a graphics card like me you can get a three-monitor system. The monitor connected to the s-video port is great, however on the DVI port (that can also connect with s-video monitors with the included adapter) the only resolutions available are 800x600 0r 1024x768. Still great for the price.

Got two of these cards mainly to run four vga monitors (to on each card) with an hp dc5700 business machine. Works perfectly as setup through windows xp pro. My old cards only went up to 75htz and 85htz refresh rates. This card allows the monitors to perform at 120htz, 32 bit color which for me means less eyestrain. Comes with vga converter included for the second video output from dvi to vga. I prefer the old vga crt monitors over lcd for less eyestrain. Installed itself with proper drivers, totally silent, fast on all my programs running core 2 duo 6700 with 4 gig on board. Nice to have a product work out of the box. Video over internet smooth at 300k playback on dsl Bellsouth connection. My 300 watt power supply doesn't seem to be a problem as cards are rated at 250 watt requirement accorder to visiontek customer service, who answer right away and are very helpful - Not that you need them - No need to disable motherboard video - Perfect! Note: I'm told multiple pci cards/multiple monitors (over two) are a function of motherboard compatibility, so check with your computer mfg. before getting two or more of these cards.

I purchased this video card for my work computer (HP DC5700). The installation was flawless, I didn't even need the installation disk. I had no problem configuring the dual monitor system. I am using it for over a month now without any problem. And the price... You can't beat it!

This is one great piece of hardware. Its cheap, it works perfectly, plug and play, no drivers needed, and it fits into the PCI slot with no problems. This is PCI not PCI-e so be careful. I have installed this video card on over 10 Dell Optiplex 320's for my office. It is my video card of choice.

There is conflicting information about the Windows 7 compatibility of this card on the internet. Microsoft's own compatibility center listed this as compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 as of 12/5/11. I put it in a new Dell Optiplex 790 with Win7x64 and Windows told me (while the monitor was plugged into the motherboard still) that I need to replace the card because it did not support DirectX 9. This card only claims to support DirectX 7. I have used this card for many years in dual/triple monitor situations and it has worked flawlessly, but it's time is up. I will be trying this card this week for the same needs in Windows 7: EVGA GeForce 6200 512 MB DDR2 PCI 2.1 VGA/DVI-I/S-Video Graphics Card, 512-P1-N402-LR |
