4.0 out of 5 stars No problem at all
I bought the product at an excelent price and is working great. The hole for the key chain is worthless but the product is what I was expecting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another warning about the rebate
It works OK, but I'm not sure how long it will last since it does not seem very sturdy as the previous reviewer pointed out. The price before the rebate is higher than its competitors, and the rebate is worthless. I paid express shipping rate in order to mail the rebate form on time. The rebate center at New Rochelle, NY received the rebate, and approved it long time...

1.0 out of 5 stars Another warning about the rebate, March 17, 2004

This review is from: VisionTek Xtreme Go 256 MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Personal Computers)
It works OK, but I'm not sure how long it will last since it does not seem very sturdy as the previous reviewer pointed out. The price before the rebate is higher than its competitors, and the rebate is worthless. I paid express shipping rate in order to mail the rebate form on time. The rebate center at New Rochelle, NY received the rebate, and approved it long time ago, but refused to send out the check. Every time I called the center, I was told to call back again in two weeks to check the status. I guess I will not receive the rebate. I read similar comments from another site right after I bought the drive. I'm regretted that I didn't read it before I bought the product. Otherwise, I would not buy it

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning about Visiontek rebates, March 10, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: VisionTek Xtreme Go 256 MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Personal Computers)
The 256 MB Flash drive works OK, but does not seem very sturdy and cannot be attached to a keychain. It is more expensive than similar drives, and the rebate they offered when I bought it was worthless. You only have 15 days from the day you order the drive to send in the rebate and since it took almost two weeks before I got it they refused to honor the rebate. Emails to VisionTek go unanswered.

3.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, December 25, 2003

This review is from: VisionTek Xtreme Go 256 MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Personal Computers)
Pros:
Got the product today, does a decent transfer. I havent tried speed test on it so far. When connected to a USB 2.0 Port, speed is better than a USB 1.1. When i connected the device to a toshiba pocket pc e335 through a USB host cable, it did not automatically detect the device, but when i loaded PHM's device manager and tap on other devices it comes alive. (You need a freeware USB mass storage driver to see the disk)

Cons:
Casing does not look sturdy when compared to Sandisk 256MB cruser.

1.0 out of 5 stars My $400 VisionTek Experience, January 30, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: VisionTek Xtreme Go 256 MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Personal Computers)
I previously purchased a VisionTek Ti500 for $400 when it first came out.

Within a few months, the fan failed and the card overheated. Rather then send me an RMA, they sent me a new fan without any instructions on how to replace it - it was no straightforward and the install chipped a ceramic on the board.

They replaced it with another card whose heatsink simply fell off of the card.

When I requested an RMA, they said that VisionTek had gone bankrupt and that they were the new VisionTek who was not required to honor the warranty. They offered me an upgrade option with several cards - all but one resulted in a higher price for the upgrade then to buy the card at Best Buy.

I offered them to exchange me their lowest-priced upgrade card, which would have cost me $40 (mind you, my original card was $400), or I would escalate and FedEx the company CEO at the following address:

Hartford Computer group, 1610 Colonial Parkway, Inverness, IL 60067

and post my experience on online store reviews.

They failed to respond in 2 days, so here is the result.

Please note that I am neither advising or dissuading anyone from buying their cards, but simply posting a truthful and unbiased account of my experience with VisionTek.
