5.0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST books on leadership and vision I've read!
Andy Stanley is an excellent author and story teller. This book is one of the best books on leadership/vision that I've read in a long time. Andy has taken a fresh and very practical approach to the subject of vision and leadership. These are principles that are applicable to everyone - not just those in a "ministry" or "professional" position...

2.0 out of 5 stars A few nuggets, but incomplete...
Almost any book on vision will have a couple of nuggets. This one is no exception. However, there are just a couple. Unfortunately the author falls into a common trap - one or two great points, plus a couple of good points, and then the rest is fluff. Another reviewer mentioned they read the book in one day. I also read the book in one day. The reason - 75% of book...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dare to Dream, February 7, 2002

This review is from: Visioneering: God's Blueprint for Developing and Maintaining Personal Vision (Paperback)
In "Visioneering," Andy Stanley provides the motivation, the plan, and the encouragement for developing and fulfilling your God-given dreams. Nehemiah's vision for rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem is used as a classic example of the things God wants to accomplish in the lives of everyday Godly dreamers. The subject of vision is masterfully defined while practical
steps for vision formulation and achievement are carefully explained and clearly illustrated. The book makes for enjoyable, inspiring, and empowering reading. Visionaries waiting for the fulfillment of their dreams can draw good counsel and encouragement from this book. I highly recommend "Visioneering" to anyone who dares to dream. I would also encourage the serious Christian visionary to read "The Power of Vision" by George Barna. The two works bring balance, clarity, and fullness to each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS THE BOMB!, January 12, 2000
God gave me a business vision (Kingdom Business Centers) that seems almost as big as Him. During a recent business meeting, one of the attendees lent me her copy of VISIONEERING which I read in one day. This book was SO LOADED with confirmation that I now have no doubt whatsoever that my business vision will come to pass. Now I'm ordering my own copy to mark up, plus the tapes to share with others who have business visions.

IF YOU ARE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING ABOVE AND BEYOND YOUR KNOWLEDGE, CAPABILITY AND RESOURCES, THIS IS A MUST READ...OVER AND OVER!

This review is from: Visioneering: God's Blueprint for Developing and Maintaining Personal Vision (Paperback)
If this book won't light your fire, your wood's wet!
Andy hits it out of the park with this quintessential work on vision. Vision is a term which has suffered from over-use and has become almost cliche in the business world over the last few years. Everyone "has a vision." Andy Stanley reminds us that vision was God's idea long before the success gurus discovered it. He takes us back to the ancient visionary and workhorse Nehemiah, and gives a VERY practical look at the steps God took him through as he rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem.
Nehemiah faced an impossible task, made possible by God of the Possible, working through His servant.

Books of this genre have been so overly produced and hyped, it is sometimes difficult time to separate the wheat from the chaff. Andy Stanley's work will stand the test of time. I believe it may be a classic in its field.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Compass for Your Personal Mission in Life, June 16, 2000
Andy, through his unique story-telling style of writing, has provided a literary compass to either confirm or deconstruct "that idea that you have" for the "really big thing" that has been consuming your thoughts. For those on the other end of the spectrum, those that are clueless about what they are really supposed to doing with their lives, he offers insight as to how to begin to address this issue. Thought-provoking, yet funny, readers will finish the book not only with a greater appreciation of Nehemiah's management challenge, but a practical roadmap of how to address the bigger issues in their own lives.

READ THIS BOOK - AND THEN GIVE IT TO A FRIEND

This book is a must-read for anyone who is intrested in living life to the fullest. It gives TREMENDOUS insight on vision, how God can help to steer your life, and more. It is extremely practicle. This work exhibits excellent, easy reading, in a vernacular, down-to-earth style with examples we all can relate to. I would recommend to parents, anyone upscaling their business, and anyone who wants to test their vision. Old Testament character Nehemiah's building project is a well-used example. 'Visioneering' is a definate must-read for anyone with hopes, with dreams, with vision.

Perhaps one of the most asked questions of any any believer is "What does God have planned for my life?" You get touched by a message, you have a burden, but you are not sure it is from God or not. This book, with it's practical exercises and straight teaching helps walk you through the process of understanding the plan God has for you, how you are wired, what burdens He's placed on your heart, and how to walk in light of that vision. This book is tremendous for anyone truly seeking to find out God's will for their life.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!, January 21, 2000
A friend loaned me this book the week before I was to make a major proposal regarding a vision the Lord had given me. It was absolute confirmation of the direction I was going and the best I have ever read on the subject. I would highly, highly recommend it to anyone who has the slightest fear about stepping out in faith!

Stanley has done a fantastic job of writing a book that does not come across as overly sermonic. It is well written and has some fresh insight into the idea of vision. Anyone that is seeking direction in their life will benefit from this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivational, Practical Advice On Actionable Visions, April 21, 2002
It has been a while since I have read a very practical book on building your vision and fulfilling the actions to make that vision come alive. Too often, books on visions and mission statements are more theory books with little practical value. Written with excellent references from the Bible of great leaders that needed a lot of help in getting their own life's direction onto God's fast track, you will find this book to easily relate to today's business needs.

I found Andy Stanley's writing to be fun, concise and practical, with each chapter well appointed with bolded key points, thought provoking questions or excercises for personal application.

I have already recommended this book to both business collegues and christian friends, both church leaders and laymen. Whether you are wanting more out of your business career, your church committee position, to better define your bible study group's future direction, or to supercharge your life back on to God's well designed plan for your life, this is a great place to inject some smart advice.

This book will easily be a book that I will reference again and again in the future.
