An Intelligent Look at Apparitions,

This review is from: Visions, Apparitions, Alien Visitors: A Comparative Study of the Entity Enigma (Paperback)
This is an excellent book which blows all the "ghost hunter-UFO Chronicles" nonsense out of the water. Most writers who examine apparitions are unable to get past the "it happened/it didn't really happen" paradigm. Evans has actually thought about the subject, and his ideas are fascinating. Evans argues compellingly that there is a "family resemblence" connecting visions of the Virgin Mary, ghosts, and the experiences of victims of alien abductions. I'm not going to try to summarize his ideas-better you should hunt down a copy of this (unfortunately) out of print book and read it for yourself. Like John Keel and Jennry Randles, Evans is an original and imaginative person who eschews the shallow examinations which most of the true believers give this very interesting subject. Five stars.
