Great to hear Sagan speaking to a religious gathering.
There are two cassettes and Carl Sagan speaks on the B side of Cassette 1. Sagan's voice was as eloquent as ever and he pulled no punches in the scientific ideas he espressed. Only get this if you are a diehard Sagan fan!
This is a recording of many speakers at a conference and is NOT as is implied "by Carl Sagan." Sagan speaks for only a short time and is "almost" reading from his book "Pale Blue Dot." Save your money and get that instead!

There are two cassettes and Carl Sagan speaks on the B side of Cassette 1. Sagan's voice was as eloquent as ever and he pulled no punches in the scientific ideas he espressed. Here is a quote: "We are all Cousins, if you trace our ancestry back far enough you find, that all of us ultimately come from a small area in east Africa. The species Homo Sapiens began there a few hundred thousand years ago. The human family began there a few million years ago". There are also a number of religious speakers to what is an ecumenical gathering. We are asked at the start to : Seperate from yourself that which separates you from humanity." Carl Sagan in being willing to take part in such a gathering is showing I believe that the best way forward for the planet is co-operation between science and religion.
