Editorial Reviews

His films are ambitious, uncompromising and boldly original. Extreme, violent, poetic and perverse, the films of Jim VanBebber push the boundaries of the cinematic experience. Often celebrated, sometimes reviled; the work of this renegade filmmaker is guaranteed to leave an indelible impression. Visions Of Hell: The Films of Jim VanBebber includes two feature films: 'The Manson Family,' 'Deadbeat At Dawn,' and and 5 short films: 'My Sweet Satan,' 'Roadkill: The Last Days of John Martin,' 'Doper,' 'Kata' and 'Into the Black.'

Format:Amazon Instant Video|Verified Purchase
I bought this expecting the additional films after Deadbeat at Dawn or a title/episode selection like with a tv series. That wasn't the case - the Instant Video purchase only includes Deadbeat. Kind of annoying since the title is obviously misleading, and the friends I was with wanted to see some of the shorts.

Worth it just for Deadbeat at Dawn (though even more worth it if you can wait and get the DVD with the extra stuff)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic September 20, 2012
By J-Dubs
Format:DVD
This is a fantastic boxed set. If youre into old school gory horror and 60s/70s grindhouse flicks like me, youll love this. When i bought this i had never seen any of Jims films ive only came accross The Manson Family DVD in stores and it looked cool and i ended up buying this box set. Both Deadbeat at Dawn and The Manson Family are awesome gritty independent movies. Included in the box set is Vanbebbers short films as well, the best of which is My Sweet Satan.

If you love independent horror/action films and have a twisted sense of humor you owe it to yourself to pick this set up. Its great

5.0 out of 5 stars Death, Sex & Bloody Good November 23, 2008
Format:DVD
These films are stunning and this DVD collection of long-out-of-print works by Jim VanBebber is long overdue. They're deeply sick, sexy, gory, shocking, disgusting...and absolutely brilliant altogether. I'll be surprised if Jim ever directs another feature, unfortunately, due to his rep, but even if he doesn't we still have these gems to remind us of his visual genius.
