Book Description

VISIONS OF HOPE is an intriguing yet touching story about a psychic mysteriously drawn into the life of a skeptic to convince him to resume the search for his missing daughter with an outcome even the psychic could not foresee.

Libby McGraw has survived an abusive marriage and breast cancer, but because of the emotional and physical scarring, she is shy about becoming involved with anyone. She is also a psychic who has had experience in the past working with the police on finding missing children. Now, she is totally content working from home as a psychic consultant.

As fate would have it, mysterious visions draw her into the life of Kipp Reed, a skeptic of the paranormal, who has moved back to the Pacific Northwest to quell the memory of his young daughter’s disappearance. Once it becomes clear that Libby holds the keys to finding his daughter, Kipp is drawn to Libby for answers, and together they embark on an unpredictable journey of the heart.

In the meantime, Libby’s best friend, Ellen, and Kipp’s best friend, Charlie, find their own brand of happiness.

VISIONS OF HOPE is a romantic mystery, but it is not a traditional romance novel. It is a story about people with real life issues learning to open their minds and hearts to new possibilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!! Captivating story... January 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I must say, this is one of the most interesting stories I read in a while (and I read a lot). It had intrigue, romance, suspense, you name it. What a wonderfully written story with extremely engaging characters. I couldn't put it down, and when I had to, I couldn't wait until I was reading it again. I look forward to reading more stories by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Book that Drew Me In September 1, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Libby McGraw was taunted in high school as "Chicken-legs McGraw" and "The Witch of Harbordale High." It's no wonder she'd far rather avoid her 25th reunion, even though in the intervening years she has utilized her psychic gifts in a successful career as consultant and counselor, and turned into a stunner.

But it's surprising that Kipp Reed - former star athlete and Harbordale High heartthrob, who wouldn't give Libby the time of day, and has since become a well-known TV journalist -- would also prefer to skip the event. It's surprising, that is, unless you know of the depression that has clouded his life since the disappearance of his beloved four-year-old daughter.

Dragged to the reunion by friends, the two lock eyes briefly -- before both make hasty exits. But they are drawn together soon after when Kipp's editor assigns him an article on psychics and, lacking any source of information on the subject, he makes an appointment with Libby for professional purposes only.

Before long, Kipp has persuaded Libby to help find his missing daughter; he finds himself drawn to her as well, but memories of her abusive first husband and self-consciousness over a body scarred by breast cancer surgery have made Libby hesitant to enter a new relationship.

This is no ordinary romance novel, but a mystery and psychic thriller as well, with an added subplot of budding interest on the part of Kipp's and Libby's best friends. In fact, it is all that the "product description" says it is, and more. It is a book that can be read on several levels. This is something I appreciated, as - like Kipp -- I am extremely skeptical that psychic phenomena actually exist, and am not normally drawn to books on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Visions of Hope. by Candace Murrow October 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A very good story that kept me riveted until the end. A young child was kidnapped, her father tried for the two years she was missing to find her with no success, until his good friend put him in touch with a woman who had success in finding lost children through her highly developed sixth sense. A romance resulted due to the closeness resulting from the intensive search. Entails a religious cult isolated in the mountains of Idaho who threatens anyone who attempts to enter, including law enforcement. The story involves suspense, divorce, abusive relationships, cancer victims, close buddy relationships and lots of chilling moments. -Carole

3.0 out of 5 stars Wish it had been longer August 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I really liked this book up until the end. All this new evidence comes out bout Tanya and her possible involvement in the abduction and then abruptly ends. It was as if the Author was tired of writing this book and just wanted it to end. I would have liked to have read more about the case and watched Kipp and Libby`s relationship develop. The Author left too much unfinished. Bummer ending.

Ok book, I really expected more from the book. If you are bored you could read this book, but it missed the excitement most paranormal books have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Visions Of Hope March 23, 2014

I really enjoyed this book. It was very easy to get wrapped up in the life of Libby and Kipp. Charlie and Ellen were just an added bit of romance. Libby was the high school girl that others thought of as a witch, because of things that she could see and predict. The book starts at a high school reunion when Ellen first tries to hook Kipp and Libby up. Charlie is a town cop where they all grew up. Kipp used to be a reporter, but is a writer now because of the tragedy that happened to his daughter. Libby is a medium. Ellen is a scorned wife. The paranormal events that join Kipp and Libby are very interesting. A must read book.
