It was pure accident that I discovered this. I felt like some old-school music and fired up the Once Dead album on way to work. That got me to thinking what's become of Farkas and Roger Dale Martin. I was surprised to find the band had a Wikipedia entry. Shocked! Shocked I say, to read that they'd reformed as a new band and just recently too. I had to find this CD and quick.

Well, now I'm listening through it. I have to be honest I'm a little disappointed with it. Specifically I'm not happy with the mixing and engineering of most of the songs. The songs themselves are good, and I've always enjoyed Larry and Roger's guitar (is Roger part of this band?) so I was frustrated that I couldn't hear them as well as on the old Once Dead album. The snare drum is mixed way too hot. Thrash metal is about the guitars, and you just can't hear them as well as you should. Some songs are better than others.

Maybe it's just hard to go back home. Regardless, I enjoyed the album and it will stay in the rotation for a while.

I've listened to these guys since 80s Vengeance: Human Sacrifice album, and they're incredible in concert. So when I got this cd, my expectations were met. It's brutal thrash at its pounding best - get it if you don't have it already!
