4.0 out of 5 stars Visions, good title!, October 23, 2011

This review is from: Visions: 19 Short Stories (Paperback)
Nice book of short stories published in 1987, and still relevant today. An excerpt from one of the stories was recently used on our state wide exams. The students were so interested that they wanted to know the ending of their story. Good purchase, I've used several stories in class.

4.0 out of 5 stars Visions of... Amazon offers excellent alternatives to supplement your tired text book, May 26, 2011

This review is from: Visions: 19 Short Stories (Paperback)
As a Middle School Language Arts teacher, I found this volume to be a handy "go to" resource for MS topical short stories outside of the text and classics.
It is hard to beat "The Open Window" or "The Necklace", but this collection has several pieces that the students respond to and found interesting enough to engage one another over.
And, unicorns existing in the NY subway is a wonderful place to visit as a starting place for creative reflection.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting approach to story telling, May 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Visions: 19 Short Stories (Paperback)
The stories within this book are interesting and told in a backwards format - causing the reader to think in a complex manner. This would be great to use in a classroom to get students to think about different ways of writing techniques.
