Book Description

February 6, 2009
Horror. Suspense. Science Fiction. Fantasy. The Old West. Superheroes. Visions is an ongoing collection of some of the finest illustrated fiction by today's writers and artists, from short stories to novellas to serialized novels. These illustrated tales may span the beginning of time to the far-flung future, but they are connected by a shared universe. These are characters who can, and in many instances will, run into each other from time to time, developing the universe they inhabit-and expanding the universe you will hold in your hands. Volume 1 contains the following: A group of college students wait out a nuclear holocaust in a fallout shelter, a satellite dish their only connection with the rest of the world. When the dish stops working, do they dare venture outside and risk the unknown dangers that await them? The Duke's Dish is written by sci fi author Bernd Struben. A woman finds that her lover has taken up with a mysterious scholar whose field of interest is raising the dead. What will she discover if she finds the strength to confront The Necromancer? By award-winning author Dianne K. Salerni. Barry D. Yelton weaves a suspenseful tale as two hikers encounter an unseen killer that could be man or beast ... or something else on Black Mountain. Straight out of a nineteenth-century dime novel, it's over-the-top action and martial arts mayhem in the wild West, in a tale starring the she-devil with a six-gun known as The Silver Lady. By Michael S. Katz. Long ago, when Humans shared a world of fantasy with Dwarves, Elves and other wondrous beings, one brave Dwarven warrior gave his life for his brothers. Hear the full tale in all its violent glory in The Legend of Fire-Mane by C. Edward Sellner. A magic drawing book that can bring its pictures to life finds its way into the hands of an unknowing young boy who likes to draw monsters. When the killings are finally discovered, can the boy put a stop to the rampaging creatures? The first of three parts, The Drawing Book Monsters is written and illustrated by horror aficionado Bryan Baugh. C. Edward Sellner's serialized history of the Visionary Universe begins with part one of Genesis: The Books of Creation, setting the stage for the epic battle between light and dark, chaos and order.

This review is from: Visions, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
VISIONS is one of the finest collection of fantasy, action and adventure stories ever assembled under two covers. It is a throwback to the great old adventure pulps and each story in these pages is a true gem. If you like fun, exciting fiction, do not pass up this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Drawing Book Monsters, March 19, 2009
By
This review is from: Visions, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
I bought this collection so I could read Part 1 (of 3) of Bryan Baugh's novel "The Drawing Book Monsters" which is being serialized in the first three volumes of Visions. The purchase was worth it for the story and his illustrations alone! If you like old school monsters and a good read, do yourself a favor and pick up this book. You'll be hooked!
