4.0 out of 5 stars Dream Theater meets the Chemical Bros., December 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Visit the Entropics! (Audio CD)
As a guitar player, im not a real big fan of keyboard instrumentals, but parallax changes everything. This CD sounds like it was a guitar based disc, transposed onto the keys. The music is definately more progressive then industrial (which is a bit different from most modern day, single player based keyboard bands), which I find to be refreshing. So, if you're a fan of progressive keys, you'll love the disc, or if you're curious about how "a guy who uses keyboards to play guitar" does it... this disc is for you. Just plain cool....

5.0 out of 5 stars What Music Should Accomplish!, December 20, 2000

This review is from: Visit the Entropics! (Audio CD)
More inclined toward what is termed generically as classical music, I accidentally heard "Visit the Entropics" when a friend's son played the CD in his car. This keyboard phenomenon has added a new dimension to the word "classic."

David C. Lovelace's creativity has no parameters. The scope and dynamics of these original compositions combined with his brilliant musicianship transport the listener as dramatically as awakening on the rim of the Grand Canyon or atop the World Trade Center after sleeping in a prehistoric cave for a century.

"Visit the Entropics" creates a spectrum of passionate extremes, hurling the listener to unimaginable levels of awareness, as though a seventh sense blends all the others into one overwhelming sweep of rapture.

For the uninitiated who think "techno" is a cacophony designed by and for the undisciplined and undiscerning David C. Lovelace's genius will provide a stunningly metaphysical experience. I recommend that you listen to it once simply to FEEL it -- and then again and again to discover the enormity of what he has contributed to music. It is thunder and lightning for the soul!
