Sophy's relationship with the attractive Dutch surgeon Maximillan Oosterwelde was the blow-hot-blow-cold variety. He might be unsure of his feelings for her, but one thing she knew for sure - in her heart, Sophy did not want any "blow cold" at all.

Not too much tension,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best of Betty Neels: Visiting Consultant (Paperback)
Sophy is an operating room Sister. She is very good at what she does. Max Oosterwelde is a visiting consultant. They both have the same godfather (another surgeon). That's the way they get thrown together all the time. Not much of a story, no desperate money troubles on the part of the heroine, no beautiful girlfriend, just misunderstandings. If you like an easy Betty Neels story, this is it.

Five Stars and then some for this Betty Neels!,
This review is from: Visiting Consultant (Best of Betty Neels) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book! I highly recommend this title to any Betty Neels fan and suggest it's one of her best. Max and Sophy are in love with each other from their first meeting. He begins a tentative pursuit, but he has a secret, and cannot declare his love. She knows she's head over heels in love with him, but isn't sure how he feels as his heart seems to belong to someone else. Somehow, Betty Neels manages to sort through the doubt and anger and find the passion between these two and give us a beautiful ending!

What can I say? I love all Betty Neels romances. They have love without all the extras of sex before marriage ect. the Visiting Consultant is just one in a series of these books. I won't give away the plot because they are self explained.
