A woman is recovering from her boyfriend, Jerry's, death, after they had snuck into their school to count the homecoming queen ballots. She begins to have strange visions, along with dreaming of a story about ancient Egypt. She meets a man named Tom, who shows her that she holds great power, which she uses to bring her lover back from the dead, at the cost of her own. I thought that most of this was sort of silly, like when the man at the theatre related to the girl his own supernatural experiences

When Merry lost her boyfriend, she was in a serious panic. Will she ever live through this, will she find a way out.

This book was fun to read. The characters were great and funny. You would always want to find what would be next when you read at least one chapter. This book will bring you a lot of laughter once you get in to it.

I would recommend this book to people who like horror and adventure.

I don't know why this book touched me so much. . .I mean I cried at the ending. The unconditional love of Tom is so beatiful, but I didn't like Mary very much. I mean, she had this guy, and the she had to ruin it- I don't want to spoil aything, but, trust me, this is one of the best books ever written

Shocking is one word that would discribe this book,it starts like any murder story,a girl grieving her boyfriend,depressed,desperate,half mad.Then the aliens come,then the boy from the fourth dimention comes.Mary discovers she is not Mary at all but a damned egyption queen forevered damned to live buried alive in the black tomb

It was one of the best books I personally have ever read,(Not that im a loser reading all the time) but I liked the book and I loved the part where she realized she was still a goddess and I had to read it twice to figure it out.

This book was a little confusing to me but I still like the story. It was also a bit sad.

i dont read much, but i've read a couple of books by chris.. and this is a good book like the other books it involves dreams, i guess he's got a thing for dreams. well anyway this book scared the ... out of me and i enjoyed the whole book. and i read it faster than i usually read books its size. well hope u enjoy the book coz the aliens rule in this book

A story of many lifes told through the eyes of Mary, a teenager, distrought over her boyfriends death. Mary and Jerry decide to see who will win for homecoming queen when something goes strangely wrong. The plot from here, tells of what went on, the lifes of friends afterwards and finally takes a strange twist into 'the afterlife' all brought on by a seance. A little confusing if you don't understand past lives or Pike's past books. A dissapointment in that the back cover synopsis doesn't peek it's face until the 20th chapter. Still, a Pike classis where you know the characater by heart and the ending always throws you for a loop. Intresting, but mediocre, I rate this book 3 stars. I would recommend this to Pike fans as 'a book along the way'. Not a starter book. Read his other books first.

It's been several years since I read this book. But I still remember it, just like I remember all of Christopher Pike's books. I wish I could point out tid bit by tid bit of facts about the book, but as I said it has been several years. I do remember the story at large though and how the book made me feel reading it.

It is a great book, full of suspense and dives deeply into CP's endless imagination. It suprised me, even though most CP books do. You come to expect endless twists and turns and some of the most fun you will ever have reading horror novels (that is what I have always considered his books to be, though there are clearly other themes and most are optimistic in the end, though not all..) Because the thing is.. expecting a ton of twists and brain stimulation from his books does not mean you will know what the suprises will consist of.. of that I can assure you.

I get nostaglic reading his novels because they bring back times from my life from ages 12 or so through 18 I'd say. After The Hollow Skull or was it The Lost Mind (?) he didn't seem to write like he once did, turning out novel after novel.. and the few works he did publish were harder to find.

The Vistor is the story of Mary and Tom. I remember that an accident befalls Tom and Mary grieves and grieves for him. You could really feel her anguish through the pages and now that I have experienced a loss like hers (in no way similar) I know the book would be that much more touching. Mary hopes and dreams of Tom coming back. Then one day he does. But he is not who he once was. I believe Tom was called Jerry at first.. but then was later called Tom? Forgive me if I am wrong.

I just had to mention something about this book and how if you are at all interested in any of CP's plots or have read other books you should go out and pick this one up. And be sure to read the others as well.

Although not following Christopher Pike's usual style and not as enthralling as others of his, this is a fair book. This book adds some enjoyment, but quite frankly, he could have done better. And, the synopsis on the back of the book has almost nothing to do with the plot of the story.
