Book Description

May 2002 Jack Reacher Novels
Sergeant Amy Callan and Lieutenant Caroline Cook have a lot in common. They're both high-flying army career women, they're both victims of sexual harassment by their superiors, they're both forced to resign from the service. And now they're both dead. They're discovered in their own homes, naked, in baths filled with army-issue camouflage paint, their bodies completely unmarked. Expert FBI psychological profilers start the hunt for a serial murderer, a smart guy with a score to settle, a loner, an army man, a ruthless vigilante known to them both. Jack Reacher, former US military cop, is a smart guy, a loner and a drifter, as tough as they come. He knew both victims. For Agent-in-Charge Nelson Blake and his team he's the perfect match. They're sure only Reacher has the answers to their burning questions: how did these women die? Any why?

Editorial Reviews

From AudioFile

This fourth novel in the Jack Reacher series (published in the U.S. as RUNNING BLIND) takes Reacher and an attractive FBI operative from Washington, DC, to Washington State--and nearly every borough of New York--tracking a killer whose victims are all female ex-army personnel, all killed in bathtubs filled with camouflage paint. The storytelling is tense and the plot compelling, but Hayward Morse's performance is marred by incongruous pronunciation and overacted characterizations. American listeners may be thrown off by some of the British pronunciations of common words, inconsistent with the New York characters. The name of the city "Spokane," which plays significantly in the novel, is mispronounced throughout. S.E.S. © AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine

Running Blind is a great book, as are all of Lee Child's books. Retitling it and selling it as The Visitor is a dirty trick on those of us always on the lookout for a new Jack Reacher book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Rip off, February 12, 2007
This book is "Running Blind" under a different title. It should be illegal to sell this book. I feel so cheated.
