Visor! I Didn't Know You Could Do That... (With CD-ROM)

Having just bought a Visor PDA, I was looking for assistance in learning its many features. I was disappointed to find out that that is not what this book is about. However it is a definite positive addition to this little computer. It is mostly a glossary of different applications for your Visor,many of which are included with an accompanying CD. It shows how to access info from the web and download it. There are over 100 web addresses listed, costs, and a review of what each does. That alone will save time and memory, plus the included CD's (1) programs make the cost of this book definitely worth having from the start with a new PDA.

FIND THAT HAVING IT IN ALL IN ONE PLACE A CONVENIENCE. Truthfully I found most of this information independant of this book while searching for various PDA downlaods. That made me a little discouraged about having had spent the money for this book. This book also comes with a CD but again...with downloadable programs the CD is redundant. The book also doesn't tell if the program is FREEWARE or SHAREWARE which personally I think is VERY VERY important. I am a new user and trying to stay with totally free software applications at the moment. Also for as big as this book is I think there could have been many, many, many many more programs included!!! I don't know how the softwear was picked but I do know that while checking a visor site for incompatable software some of this software was reported incompatable. Now this is only reports by some users and not all are confirmed....but it was enough to give me pause. In anycase.... if you want a book on USING your visor this IS NOT IT! Try "VISOR for DUMMIES". If you want links to software for your visor try the handspring.com website. If it is easier for you to have it in one book with a CD included this maybe a good resourse for you but honesty I don't think this book was a very good bargin.

This book was highly disapointing. As I quickly became aware, the contents are nothing more than brief synopsis of various shareware and freeware programs available for the Visor. That's it! No substance....just sales!
