The dark side of the Animorphs series!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This book was spectacular! It is about whaen Visser One (Marco's Mom) is being accused of treason. They look at her brain to see her memories. According to her memories, she had special feelings for a human-controller named Hildy Geravis, who's Yeerk name was Essam. They had children, which is suspicious to the council. Visser Three plans to exploit this oppurtinity so that Visser One will die, and so Visser Three can become Visser One. And the only person who can save Visser One and Marco's mom is Marco and the rest of the Animorphs, who Visser Three thinks are "Andalite Bandits." The Animorphs are sworn enemys to all the Yeerks. This will be their hardest task ever. This book also features a great illustration of Visser Three with a multi-colored shiny cover and back. This book was great, but it wasn't the best. I think The Andalite Chronicles was the best. If you liked this book, i'd reccomend The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, The Andalite Chronicles, or the Animorphs Megamorphs. Have the power to morph with Visser!

Among the very best in the ANIMORPHS series,
By Julie (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This is among the best, if not *the* best Animorphs book I've ever read. It could be considered a "backstory novel" (as the other two similar books, the Andalite Chronicles and the Hork-Bajir Chron.) since during Edris's trial she recounts in detail exactly how she went about targeting Earth for invasion. But it also has a lot of relevance to the "present day" Animorphs series. Somewhere in the middle of the novel it takes off where a cliffhanger in Animorphs #35 left off...except with a different point of view. Visser One, the main character of this book, was facinating to read about; her personality crafted from a large number of conflicing positions, and how one person can hatefully accomplish an evil purpose yet at the same time act out of genuine love. This book was somewhat dark, and the ending may leave you feeling depressed, as it isn't exactly a happy "everything's okay now" ending. Even the general emotion derived from the narrative is a bit of a downer. However, this an excellent book I reccomend for anyone who likes Animorphs -- I would reccomend it for anyone, but unless you've read the two "Chronicles" books and quite a few series books, (particularly the ones with Visser One in them or focus on Yeerks in general) the characters and themes will have little meaning. Though those who are not long-time readers of Animorphs will be surprised at such a detailed and sympathatic narrative by one who is normally a villain -- the highest general of the "evil" bodysnatching, parasitic aliens. Read it today!

This CANNOT be missed,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
A MUST READ! KA Applegate's best yet. She has finally decided to venture into the minds of some of the most power-hungry evil villians -- the Yeerks. When Visser One (alias Marco's mother) is put on trial for treason, she ends up confessing some of her deepest, darkest secrets...secrets that will change the lives of Eva (her host)and the Animorphs, and perhaps decide the fate of the human race. You see, this Yeerk, Edriss 562, Visser one, was the one who gave the Yeerks earth. But she can't allow an all-out war like Visser Three (Esplin 9466) wants. She has secrets on earth that may be destroyed in a war...and she won't let that happen. This is the fate of Marco's mom, Visser One, the Yeerk who dared to love. Who dared to give her heart away to another creature. The Yeerk who dared to have emotions... AGAIN, KA'S BEST YET. IF YOU MISS THIS, YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON EVERYTHING ...

Breath-Taking,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This book was one of the best Animorphs books I have ever read. It really shows the Yeerk side of these stories, and makes you feel a little better about the Yeerks. The only Yeerk it makes you hate even more in Visser Three. But you probably already hate him. 5 star, breath-taking novel that everyone should read.

Bobby's review,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This book is not part of the Animorph series but it has a lot about the Animorphs in it. In this book Visser one is on trail for treason. During the trail you learn how the Yeerks first found and began to conquer Earth. This book isn't hard to read but has very good content. The book has very few hard vocabulary words. It also contains content that is suitible for children. This book was action packed and suspensful. The most action filled part is when the Animorphs storm the court room. The most suspenseful part was when Visser one was waiting for the verdict of the jury. I would recomend this book to children ages 8-12 and adults who like science fiction. Although easy to read, it can be a good book for many people.

A capturing and breath-taking novel,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This, I feel, could quite possibly be *the* best Animorphs book ever. This book puts the Yeerks in a whole new light. You cannot be sure who is good and who is bad. You know that you want Edriss 562 to win, but you aren't sure if she's a villian or not. This book holds the reader spellbound. You cannot put it down. It is evil against evil, one horrible villian against another. A wonderfully imaginative, creative, book that no child should be deprived of reading.

Visser One's novel is among the best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
The book really gets six stars. KA Applegate has dared to journey into the dark side of the most evil forces ever. Visser One, who controls the body of Marco's mother, is under trial for treason. She must prevail, or else the irrational Visser Three will take her place and kill everything. This is a great book because you know that Visser One is an evil character, and then the author makes you feel sorry for her that she is so close to death. The fact that Miss Applegate can take an evil and make the reader sympathize with the evil is amazing. KA Applegate is a very talented and stressed out author who obviously worked hard on Visser and all of her other non-ghostwritten books. This book will leave the reader in awe and amazement. But when you do finish it, make sure to read #45: The Revelation - for a surprise of what happens to Visser One in her final trial, the trial of all trials.

Before the Animorphs...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
I was really expecting it to be like an ending to The Proposal, but in a way it was. I think it was more of a love story than anything, Visser One and Essam having children and the love Eva showed for Marco and his dad even though she still was enslaved. I was surprised because I thought all Yerrks felt was hate, but I guess I was wrong.

Excellent, but somewhat lacks what the other Chronicles had,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
VISSER is the newest entry in the "Chronicle Series". The book was excellent. K.A. is truly talented; her use of words are excellent. Although the book plot was far from what I had in mind (I thought VISSER ONE was going to be utterly and truly evil, which would be great to see - a book totally narrated by a bad guy/girl), we have a very different Visser than what we had in mind. For those of you that think that you will learn all about life with Marco before she dissapeared, you are SO wrong. There's hardly ANYTHING about that, which was also a bit sad. BUT, the truly AWESOME thing about this book is that we finally meet the COUNCIL OF THIRTEEN. I had been waiting for a story about them for a while, and finally we get to see what they are like. And you will not be dissappointed at all. This book is defenitely one to add to your collection. VISSER is a must have.

A Spectacular Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Visser (Animorphs) (Hardcover)
This Book is a deep, engaging look into the Yeerk mind. In Visser, You're not sure who to root for since the main charcters are Vissers One and Three. About mid-way through the book, the Animorhs appear as seen at the end of #35, but they aren't the real heroes and you're never really hoping for them to stick around. The dark gloomness helps set the general mood for the book, but the end isn't for the happily ever after people.
