A Look Back.,
By
This review is from: Early Vistors to Easter Island 1864-1877 The Reports of Eugene Eyraud, Hippolyte Roussel, Pierre Loti and Alphonse Pinart translated by Ann Altman (Paperback)
Great literal translation by Ann Altman of material which is hard to get in French, and most of which is translated into English here for the first time. This time period is at the nadir of Easter Island society, their climb back is a tribute to their resiliency.
