1.0 out of 5 stars not pleased, December 15, 2009
This review is from: Visual C++ 2008 How to Program (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
I think this book is misnamed. It is all about C++ programming - there are dozens of good books on that subject. It talks a little about windows console (DOS Style) programs, but it never addresses programming for windows applications. Too Bad!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Mislead Title, November 14, 2008
This review is from: Visual C++ 2008 How to Program (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
It talks C++ using visual C++. NO WINDOW PROGRAMING AT ALL ( in indeed, the title didn't say WINDOW at all, clever ? ).

1.0 out of 5 stars Why that title?, April 7, 2008
This review is from: Visual C++ 2008 How to Program (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
This is not a Visual C++ book. It is the first time I'm disapointed about a book from Deitel& Deitel. I was looking for a Visual C++ book, and there is not even a chapter about MFC. I bought many years ago "C++ How to Program" from Deitel & Deitel, and this new book is just a new Edition of the "C++ How To Program"

I highly recommend "Java How To Program" and "C++ How to Program", but if you are looking for something in Visual C++, don't buy "Visual C++ 2008 How to Program" or you will end up returning it.
