More About the Author

He is the author of more than 30 books, including Photographing Flowers: Exploring Macro Worlds with Harold Davis (Focal Press), Creative Black & White: Digital Photography Tips & Techniques (Wiley),Creative Composition: Digital Photography Tips & Techniques (Wiley), Creative Night: Digital Photography Tips & Techniques (Wiley), Creative Close-Ups: Digital Photography Tips & Techniques (Wiley), The Photoshop Darkroom: Creative Digital Post-Processing (Focal Press) and Practical Artistry: Light & Exposure for Digital Photographers (O'Reilly). 3.0 out of 5 stars Sample programs are good, September 17, 1997
This review is from: Visual Basic 4 Secrets (The Secrets Series) (Paperback)
If you are new to Visual Basic I would advise you not to buy this book. But after completing one or two other books you'll find the sample programs pretty interesting. Basically a book full of tips and tricks rather than serious programming. The author, (I don't know why) has dedicated one whole chapter on Sheridan's VBASSIST which is NOT included in the companion CD-ROM. Its as if the author is publicing this Sheridan product

5.0 out of 5 stars I liked this book!, March 26, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Visual Basic 4 Secrets (The Secrets Series) (Paperback)
I liked this book! It told me just what I needed to know. Once I ran the setup program on the companion CD-ROM, all sample code and examples from the book were readily available. A great deal of useful information, not available anywhere else

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't have what I wanted, February 24, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Visual Basic 4 Secrets (The Secrets Series) (Paperback)
I have just started to read this book. However I was disappoined to find out that the examples were not on the CDROM as was advertized. It probably has a lot of good information on topics other than the ones I looked for, however I found it did not contain the information I needed
