Eric Smith is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) and an independent consultant in the Washington, D.C., area. He co-authored Visual Basic 6.0 Bible and has contributed to several books on Visual Basic and web programming. His articles appear regularly in Visual Basic Programmer's Journal.

In writing this book, I have tried to provide not only the "how" of solving common yet tough programming problems, but also the "why". We include all the code needed to solve many common problems, but we also provide you the opportunity to extend the code with thoughts and ideas to use the solutions we present to solve additional problems as well.
