What a cool book for all Star Wars fans! The photos are dazzling, rich in details, full of the characters and gadgetry envisioned by George Lucas. Each photo is annotated and the pages are crammed with facts - surely enough to satisfy even the most avid aficionado!

1.0 out of 5 stars Star Wars Episoce II: Attack of the Clones -- The Visual Dic
Actually my son loved the book but it fell apart as did all the similar Star Wars books. (He is not hard on books, our pop-up books all survived his early years intact.) I bought a copy for the library at my son's elementary school and that one fell apart too. These books are to expensive to have the binding be so shoddy.

This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
What a cool book for all Star Wars fans! The photos are dazzling, rich in details, full of the characters and gadgetry envisioned by George Lucas. Each photo is annotated and the pages are crammed with facts - surely enough to satisfy even the most avid aficionado!

The author and members of the DK staff spent some time at Skywalker Ranch, Lucasfilm's California headquarters as they met with the film's creators, propmakers, and stunt coordinators. Such research is obvious in this superb resource.

The double-page spreads are great for browsing, amd the inside information is fascinating.

5.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive guide to Attack of the Clones, August 18, 2002
This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
Like the Visual Dictionary for The Phantom Menace, this comprehensive collection of all the main characters, vechicles, droids and creatures is another fascinating book for Star Wars fans. Starting out with a summary of the plot for Ep.2, this book includes character profiles of Padme Amidala, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Mace Windu, Yoda, Zam Wesell and many others. One of my favourite Star Wars companion books

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Star Wars book!, June 20, 2002
This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
The Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Visual Dictionary is a fascinating diversion for all the fans waiting to see the film again. loaded with stats on Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, Yoda and tons more characters, endlessly informative trivia and an assortment of great photos from the film. With so much detailed info it's almost overwhelming. Regardless, Star Wars fans (myself included) love this stuff, and it's a must-have for anyone who loves the films set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

I'm not sure I would call this a dictionary myself- it is short on any specifics. But it does contain some really great pictures to gawk at, and tantalizing source material- some of which was apparently cut out of Episode II. You get a look at a bunch of different Jedi and their fighting styles, Mandalorian armor, and the lowdown on what R2-D2 is packing in that little metallic barrel body of his.

You also get some neat insight into the SW universe. For example, I didn't really catch the similarities between Jango Fett's armor and Clone Trooper armor before, but this book describes how clone armor was modeled on Mandalorian armor. You get some tidbits on who the Mandalorians were and Jango's origin, who the secessionists are, and a look into the several different types of battle droids. However, when I say tidbits, I mean just that- no more than a sentence or two. But it's still kinda cool ;)

I'd recommend this book to anyone that enjoyed Episode II, and I think it'd make a great sourcebook for any RPGers out there.

My son and his friends are big Star Wars fans. They are all between the ages of 5-8. They loved this book. They really enjoyed finding out all the details in the movie. While my son watches the movies he looks up and reads about the movie. It is a great book. Lots of fun...

This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
This book gives anyone who loves to draw the Star Wars characters invalulable poses and views of all of the hardware and characters. I have been using these books to create my own Star Wars posters and you can't get better detailed photos anywhere else.

5.0 out of 5 stars cool book, June 6, 2002

This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
This book is really cool. It has so many details and characters that you don't even notice in the movie. And also, in the chapter of the book titled Jedi in Combat or something like that, there is a picture of Count Dooku holding his red lightsaber, AND a BLUE one. Dooku with a red lightsaber and a blue one?? Obviously it's a cut scene, which is cool since we get to see a snapshot of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great photos not found anywhere else!, August 6, 2002
This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
While I've been a Star Wars fan since 1977, I haven't really felt the need to get any of the books that expound on the history of the characters. However, the Visual Dictionaries are a totally different thing!
Wonderful photos - close ups you will see no where else, of the cast, of the costumes, of the props. You'll see characters you only got a glimpse of in the movie, and see up close what some of the nifty gadgets look like.
Definitely a must buy for the SW fans out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very detailed guide to the film..., June 30, 2002

This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
Well, now I own all of the "visual dictionaries" for the Star Wars films, and I highly enjoy them all. They`re informative, colorfull and entertaining to read.
If you want to know more about the characters, seeing the movie isn`t enough. And these books are a good way to get more information.
The fact that the original trilogy had one Visual Dictionary for all three films is a pity, but as each of the prequel films will have an own 64-page dictionary, the room for details is rather big. In this one, there are more information about the lesser known characters/creatures/locations than ever before.
Some of the characters, I could barely even spot in the movie.
As we are familiar with most of the good guys from the visual dictionary of "Episode I - The Phantom Menace", there aren`t as much info about them here as in the last book, but the new villains of Episode II, like bounty hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wesell, dark jedi Count Dooku and the separatists, are given lots of attention here. There are litteraly hundreds of pictures here. Some of the most interesting parts are the Coruscant underground, as we get to know more about this planet, which has previously been briefly represented in the last two books.
Over all, I can recommend this one to anyone who enjoyed the new Star Wars movie and want to know more about it. An exciting and entertaining book that the whole family will love!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Book, July 8, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Hardcover)
This book is very informative and it gives a lot of background information on characters that many star wars fans wouldn't know about. I am a HUGE star wars fan and this book is not a waste of money. There is a lot about Coruscant and the droid foundries of Geonosis. I learnt alot from this book, and it is ideal for any star wars fan's library.
