Level III and still learning,
This review is from: Visual Link Spanish Level 3 Verb Course Win/Mac (CD-ROM)
I started Visual Link Spanish in about 2006. I began with Level I and listened to the audio's and practiced aloud as well as doing the lessons on computer. I did Level II and now III and am really making progress. I've also purchased the PPT program to allow me to listen to Spanish speakers as well as practice myself. Years ago, a friend from Cuba told me that if I wanted to learn Spanish I needed to emphasize the verbs. Level III does exactly that. The increments make so much sense as well as the exercises and pictures. And, you can go at your own pace and review as often as you like. Just weeks ago I came from being a staff member for a program in Rome that had mainly English and Spanish speakers. Because of Visual Link I, II and III, as well as PPT, I was able to communicate with the Spanish speakers to the level of becoming good friends with a few. I love the program and will continue to use it. High marks for the methods for learning.

I am a homeschool mom who does not speak Spanish, yet I wanted to teach my kids this beautiful language. I had tried one course but it was difficult and teacher intensive. After much research (and shock at the expensive prices on other courses) I decided to go with Visual Link Spanish. Am I glad I did! It is a stand alone computer teacher that my kids all use without my assistance, there is an easy to use lesson, games and vocabulary practice - all of which my children really enjoy! There are CD's for use in the car. I took the course too - and we were all speaking full sentences the first day, improving daily. I have now purchased level II and level III which I will teach this year. I consistently recommend this product to all my friends. Its so affordable and highly effective. We visit our favorite Mexican restaurant often and our sweet waitress speaks only Spanish to us so my kids can get real life practice. We have learned how to speak, read and write Spanish. Gracias, Visual Link Spanish es muy bien!

Fantastic Fluency Fount,

This review is from: Visual Link Spanish Level 3 Verb Course Win/Mac (CD-ROM)
I have Levels 1 through 3 of which I have completed 1 and 2 and am currently working my way through Level 3. Level 3 is where the majority of the verb tenses are located. I am taking my time learning new tenses. A common mistake is to attempt tenses too soon before each is fully ingrained in the brain. The conjugations should roll off the tongue before even considering attempting another. One of my favorite review features is the "Burrito Builder". Saying it as you type it really goes a long way toward making the word stick. I also like the increased speed feature. Once you can continuously complete a round at a fast pace, you can be assured the words are becoming as natural to you as your native language.I have had a few years of Spanish in school, but was never a confident speaker. With the entire Visual Link course of Levels 1 through 3, I am amazing myself with putting an English thought into Spanish. I also have Rosetta Stone, but it never gave me this ability. I feel like this course is more hands on. From the very beginning, you are speaking the language and not merely learning grammar rules. There is just enough grammar so that you know what's going on, but you aren't overwhelmed. Learning too much grammar is the surest way to intimidate one into being afraid to open one's mouth. Meanwhile, Rosetta Stone has thus far had no grammar lessons and I would have been completely lost if I hadn't already been somewhat familiar with Spanish. The cartoonish pictures of words/phrases in Visual Link are a stroke of genius. My 10-year old especially loves them and they have really helped her remain interested in the program. Those of you who have some espanol under your belt might be tempted to skip Level 1. Might want to rethink that. Starting at the beginning will not only be a great review, but you are bound to learn new words and phrases as well. Level 1 is really where I picked up my speaking confidence. If you skip Level 1, you'll also miss out on lots of fun. Be sure to read Easy Reader children's books written in Spanish (preferably those with a glossary in back) as an adjunct to this course and you'll be confidently speaking Spanish in no time. Learning words within a story/plot will do much to keep your interest high and help you retain the meaning of a word. Try to find a Reader that has a beginner level that the entire story is written in the present tense. Huge confidence builder. A great feature within Level 1 is the travel guides regarding various Spanish-speaking countries which are written in both Spanish and English. Bottom line, you won't regret purchasing this course.
