3.0 out of 5 stars Great and truly helpful but not for everyone, May 22, 2006

I have a hard time learning certain subjects quickly because I have to have a picture in my head for quick recall. This book made that a whole lot easier in studying biochem. I wish that I would have bought the series earlier. Granted, there could be more pictures and more content in the book but there's space to add your own pictures and study notes. Maybe future editions will have more content. If you are not the type of person that needs pictures then this book is probably not going to be as helpful. Otherwise, its actually a great study aid.

This review is from: Visual Mnemonics for Biochemistry (Paperback)
I used all the books that were available in her series during the basic sciences. I am somewhat of a visual learner. So some stuff was great and I can still "see" detailed material (ie muscarinic receptors or the glycogen storage diseases, etc) from these books. Then of course some of her mnemonics missed entirely, I just could not relate to or recall to some associations that locked in for her or others. But, for me, it was worth having the series and working off of any of the material that easily matched my processes. Don't expect great artwork here, most of the material were straight up memory aids, with less being conceptual, but overall they all saved me a lot of time and helped lock-in truck loads of critical data.
