Book Description

Visual Mnemonics for Pathology uses cartoon drawings that make the material easier for you to learn with tremendous recall months later. Whether you need a fast Pathology review for your course or USMLE Step 1, Visual Mnemonics for Pathology is the fun way to study!

Laurie Marbas and Erin Case, medical students at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, developed this series using "concept diagramming" to shorten their study time and help recall the facts.

Each page is formatted with plenty of space for notes and reminders, and some students color in the drawings for better recall.

Perfect for medical students -- physician assistants, nurse practitioners and related health professionals will also find Visual Mnemonics valuable.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I wish that something like this with such excellent visuals were available to me when I was studying for Boards. The pictures explain the topics in detail, allowing me to see the connections between the various parts of the whole and the words and mnemonics allow me to remember the material and make it readily accessible when I need to recall it."Corinne LeVon Quinn, Third Year Medical Student, MCP Hannemann

1.0 out of 5 stars look out, April 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Visual Mnemonics in Pathology (Paperback)
What a worthless book. The illustrations are homemade, hand-drawn scribble. Read the "key"ed facts in BRS or get Robbins Review if you need help solidifying the pathology. I'll bet it was the authors who posted these bogus "5 star" reviews immediately after the book was published. The reviews sound identical, they're all from the same place in TX, and they over-enthusiastically give themselves 5 stars. It's wholly overpriced... be cautious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Systems Courses, September 16, 2008
This review is from: Visual Mnemonics in Pathology (Paperback)
This book is incredibly helpful in learning the systems courses in medical school as it is arranged in such a fashion. Not only is it great because of how it helps as a memory tool, but the information is on target even more so then First Aid in my opinion. My advice is to get this book before you go through your systems courses and add to the pictures as you go along. Then you have a lot of the information for a disease right there in one picture and when boards come around you can refer back to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for a visual learner; take it to your lectures!, December 7, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Visual Mnemonics in Pathology (Paperback)
This book is an invaluable addition to medical education. Medicine is such a HUGE topic, and gaining proficiency in it depends on understanding pathophysiology. Perhaps most reviewers would not call this book a scholarly addition to the medical literature, but I think it is brilliant!
