5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite, September 11, 2000

This review is from: Visual (Audio CD)
This album is a collaboration of kindred souls who are so perfectly attuned to each other that their music flows in an exquisite, seamless wellspring of harmonics that dazzle the listener and open the heart with its luminous, transcendant beauty.

The music is highly visual and can free the spirit to see and experience those magical moments where remembered feelings of love enrich the senses and thoughts turn to those moments most beloved and treasured. The music is gentle, delicately spun and luscious. The melodies are clear yet multi dimensional. One is invited into a deeply quiet, healing space within the silence of a vast universe to feel a sense of peace that awaits beyond. The spatial freedom created by this feeling is like a sigh that releases the tension from within and one is renewed.

Track 8 "The Old Man" is so gorgeous it is thrilling. Track 10 "Egypt" creates the sense of antiquity and timelessness that one thinks of when visualizing the ancient land of the pyramids.

This spellbinding music takes the listener on a fascinating journey as wonderful and as vast as one's imagination may allow. "Visual" is subtitled an ambient experience. It is a deeply emotional and spiritual one as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, January 24, 2006

The music is breathtaking! I was amazed with haunting beauty of melodies and the mood they created. I ahve never heard anything similar to what these two guys created. I would call it a mix of ambient, chill and instrumental dreamy music...but call it whatever you want as long as you give it a try! Recommended!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Of over 1,000 CDs, this is my favorite!, July 20, 1999

I am transformed and transfixed when this mental trip begins. My whole body just exhales and becomes calm. If I close my eyes I'm in a beautiful black space, drifting through time. The minimalist, haunting music evokes images from the past, some sad, some uplifting, like life memories.

I pray that Sevag and Patey will conspire to do a "Visual II and III and ...". I can't get enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible music and sonic!, March 8, 2003

I heard the CD over my Saturday nap and wanted to get some more and give my friends. The music was composed and recorded so well that really shines on a decent sound system. My back wall seemed to just move back a good 10 feet, my room seemed larger and spookier that forced me to sit up on bed wondering what was going on there at the other end of the room.

I've never been a fan of New Age music, but now I guess I'm hooked. The Bridge is close but I prefer this Visual CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking !, February 21, 2005
This review is from: Visual (Audio CD)
This particular CD of Oystein Sevag and Lakki Patey is very rare with both sharing very intense music. It is by far a masterpiece. It is in a class of its own and you will be amazed at the talent of these Norwegian composers. It would be best fit that you place yourself in the center of this music so that it surrounds you and you will be the judge. A small investment will put you far above what you may imagine. Highly recommended as your past reviewers have done as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing artist with a passion for music, January 4, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Visual (Audio CD)
All I have to say is, "you'll love this cd with all your heart." The music is so passionate that it can actually bring tears to your eyes when listening. The only draw back is that some of the tracks are pretty short. As soon as you start feeling the music the track ends. Nonetheless, this is a must have cd for the mellow music listener.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful duet, January 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Visual (Audio CD)
The combination of classical guitar and synthesizer, and the beautiful ethereal compositions on this album, create one of the finest examples of new age music, and one of Oystein Sevag's finest recordings,(and he has produced several excellent cds.). This is to listen to when it is quiet, and you can just sit (or lay down) and do nothing but listen. The music will transport you to wonderful relaxing places.
