Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) has been steadily adopted for the development of large-scale enterprise applications since its initial release in 2005. It now has a solid user base which continues to grow.
This book seeks to bring the powerful project management philosophies of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) to the VSTS development environment. These techniques can greatly increase the chances of a project’s successful completion – on time and within budget – and can be applied to projects both large and small with equal success. VSTS has always had the capability to support ALM but this capability has not been widely recognised in the past. This is now changing with Microsoft now actively promoting ALM and evangelising its use through their development teams.
