This is a netbook running win ce 5.0. Although it is a limited windows platform used mostly in cell phones and PDA's, it seems to work well in this netbook (I thought this was a very creative use of win ce 5.0). It is perfect for browsing the internet, getting emails, working on word docs, viewing all office documents, viewing photos, listening to mp3 music files...very basic. This would make a great gift for a kids first computer, careless teens on a budget, adults that just need to do limited things over the internet or emailing. THIS IS NOT A LAPTOP NOR WILL IT RUN REGULAR WINDOWS PROGRAMS. Additional programs can be found over the internet via Google search. So long as you keep this in mind, it truly is a great netbook for the price.

Attractive glossy outer top shell. Crisp, bright and clear 7" screen, 3 USB ports (1 for memory stick, 1 for mouse and 1 for a keyboard), built in Wi-Fi card, wired network port, sd card reader. The keyboard is a small full keyboard. Internal memory is only 4 Gigs, so you will need external memory for saving stuff onto. Very light and compact in size. It's supposed to connect with a desk top/laptop via usb cable (not included), but I haven't tried this. Surprisingly good for what it is.

The operating system on this netbook is completely outdated. I can't watch videos on youtube. It's pretty much the equivalent of surfing the web on a 3 year old cell phone. They keyboard is really poorly made also. DO NOT BUY! Spend more money on a quality netbook.

This allows you to check your email, look at facebook and use a very old version of MSN IM and windows video. There are no graphics to be found and you can't watch videos because the player is too old. As for loading books... not easy, I couldn't do it with ebooks I already own because I couldn't load the needed programs.
Computer runs very slow.
This is supposed to work like a PDA with microsoft but I didn't find this to be the case at all. *I've had one...
Save your money for an Iphone or IPOD TOUCH... I have an IPOD touch and can do more with it than I could this machine.

This is a great little netbook for the money,nothing fancy but nice and compact for traveling for basic computing,web surfing etc!!

I bought what I thought would be a nice little net-book. CE hangs on boot up and it has to be hard reset about 15 times before it will boot up properly. Contacted Visual Land. Tech support is non-existent. I asked for the BIOS password, it comes preset, was told nobody knew it. I needed this to attempt to put on another operating system that runs on the ARM processor that comes in these units. After going back and forth several times over many months, they simply said there was noway to get the bios password. They have no idea what the factory presets it to. So, for me this unit is nothing more than a paper weight. Recommendation, do not buy this net-book. Spend a few extra dollars and get one from a reputable company.

Small and compact, feels good to the touch. Not complicated and and has enough features to get you by. Need more than for checking e mail, your brokerage account or sending a letter that you just composed..get a mainframe. This is fine when you don't have an extension cord 1500 miles long and you need to keep up with your daily life. WiFi works well and the only remaining question is..how well made and I guess we will find out sooner or later!

Got one from an acquaintance that thought it wasn't working properly so I checked it out.

How can I best sum up what this computer can do? Well, it does turn on, but that's about it.

Let me cut to the chase and state it couldn't open the Amazon page highlighting this product. That's not only bad, it's pathetic.

I had bought this for my daughter to use. She would watch me using my laptop and wanted one of her own. The price is great, but you get what you pay for!! Everytime I tried to turn it on, it would feeze on the configuring screen. Finally after trying to reset it unsucessfully for the 5th time, I decided it wasn't worth it and returned it. Also the keyboard is very cheap! This product is not made of good quality materials! Don't waste your time or money on this piece of junk!

The Visual Land V-Net Netbook runs Windows CE 5.0, meaning most applications for other Windows Operating Systems won't work here. If you go in knowing that, you'll probably like this netbook. However, the internal clock doesn't work correctly, typing too fast will unavoidably (even on an external keyboard) produce double letters, and character repeat is permanently shut off. In addition, the web browser is quite dated and should be set to view mobile pages for the best possible results. For some odd reason, pages may sometimes refuse to display at all unless you clear the browser's cache/history as well. Regardless, externally at least, the thing is remarkably well built, and unlike some other miniature netbooks, supports downloads as well.

Overview: I purchased this for $65 knowing it was a Win CE machine with somewhat mediocre reviews. Keyboard seems nice.

Plus: Good Win CE version of Excel & Word preloaded. Could read PDF files or listen to music. Could be useful for taking notes.

Bad:
1. Often hangs on boot. Pressing On button does not power down. You have to find a pin to do a hard reset.
2. Wireless is poor. Often loses connection for no reason - even while signal strength is good.
3. No flash so no youtube.
4. Battery life is poor. Barely one hour with wireless.

If you want to take notes in word and don't need wireless then maybe worth it. Otherwise spend the money and get a netbook or a cheap notebook. Password to go into BIOS is ZTK for those who want to hack into this and put Linux.
