Very good male nude reference book,

A fair sized book, it's unique in the sense that the male model has the relevant muscles and tendons actually drawn on his body. Nice concept but I don't think it really helps. Because the muscles are tendons and the skin is, well, skin, it stretches as a mass and not as fibers. I think the poses are useful though, good lighting to show muscle definition and tone and decent-sized photographs too.

One of the best Anatomy books for any Artist!,

This is easily one of the greatest anatomy for artists books I've found. It covers various landmarks and on the opposite page uses a unique way to visualize the underlying muscle structure of the same pose. A must have book for any Artist!

It seems like a great tool, but I really haven't used it much. I suppose I'm glad I have it, but as an artist I just don't use it as much as I thought I would.

This book is useful for artists such as painters and sculptors trying to accurately represent a muscular male body in different poses (like greek sculptures - Atlas, The Thinker, etc). Every page shows the model in a different position comparing the same pose in the "buff" with and without the painted muscles.

Excellent book for learning muscles,

I'm an artist and I needed to see exactly where certain muscles would be in different positions and this book is great for that. You can't always tell where a superficial muscle lies on the human form because there are other muscles underneath them causing more bumps/wrinkes/etc than you'd expect. So this book was a big help and I recommend it to any artist out there wanting to learn muscles!

The number and size of the photos is great.. as are the labels. Admittedly, I've not read much of the actual text since it just came in today. The overlays of the muscles would be amazing if they were visible in a hi res image file. Instead they are printed out in grayscale on standard (ie not high quality) paper at what seems to be a fairly low resolution, which destroys a lot of the detail. I also wish that the original photo had been screened out more in the images with the overlays to make the actual muscle diagrams more readable. Basically.. more contrast for ease of viewing. All of that aside, the angles and size of images is great.

I bought this book a month ago, I still have not received the book and it is 8 days past its delivery quote.I sent an email a week ago and still havent had a reply. They gave me a fake package tracking number and a window that opens saying "we do not have anything to do with TEXTBOOKSNOW. Please do not contact us for tracking their packages." I would not recomment their services . |
