Author Herman L. Toliver, Jr. MD writes a fictional story that reminds us that a few hours can change the course of life forever. In Vital Signs, Dr. Jason Alexander was the best at what he did in his professional and personal life, taking pride in the family he was blessed with, and the daughter he and his wife were expecting. We often say what a difference a day makes, but in Dr. Alexander's case, it is what a difference a few hours in a day makes that would change his life forever.

In his medical career, Dr. Alexander was highly respected at St. Francis, and was in line for the Chief-of-Staff position of the emergency room department. Dr. Cillian Spivey, Dr, Alexander's mentor, was as well, but only one of the qualified men would be chosen for the esteemed position.

An accident would change his family life and professional career as he knew it. While Dr. Alexander fulfilled a speaking engagement at Spelman College, these events and others unbeknownst to him regarding St. Francis Hospital began to unfold. But will Dr. Alexander's expertise and commitment to the field be instrumental in putting his life back on track?

Author Herman L. Toliver, Jr. MD shares a fictional story that takes readers behind the scenes of the ER, identifying the cases and giving medical explanations for the illnesses, injuries and procedures needed to treat and/or save the lives of those who found themselves in the emergency room. Dr. Herman Toliver is definitely on his way to being one of the most talked about authors to recently come on the scene. His first installment of "Vital Signs" was highly thought provoking, intriguing, and climatic to the end!!! This book truly leaves you on the edge of you seat.
