Wholehearted Endorsement!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Vital Truths: The Secret to Living and Leading Wholeheartedly (Paperback)
This powerful book contains the wisdom of the ages and is appropriate for any reader who wants to unlock the secret of a wholehearted life. The author, Bruce Roselle, PhD, is a psychologist and executive coach who has identified 7 ways that people get caught up in their own "stuff," and has provided the antidote via 7 vital truths. The insight on these pages is not "new truth" but rather is based on timeless, proverbial truths. Each chapter features the framework of a distinct vital truth supported by anecdotes, stories, and insight of actual people who have struggled through to understanding in these areas. For example, the chapter that encourages the reader to "Focus on the Beauty that Remains" is a wonderful reminder of the importance of thankfulness and gratitude in our daily lives. Or the chapter that emphasizes the importance of taking time to refresh ourselves suggests to the reader, "Jog Yourself Physically, Psychologically, Spiritually." Each chapter is like a fine cup of coffee that must be savored and contemplated before it is swallowed. It's the kind of book that the reader can read through in 2 hours, read in 20 minute segments over time, or re-read every so often to reconnect with the wisdom within it. I found it to be a very spiritual book, as well, and give it my wholehearted endorsement!

A Lifetime of Insights,
By Charles A. Slocum (Minnetonka, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vital Truths: The Secret to Living and Leading Wholeheartedly (Paperback)
"Vital Truths" demonstrates that the reader does not have to consume thousands of pages of print to learn something truly important. In 136 pages, Dr. Roselle culls out the central tenants for a successful life. He calls it wholehearted leadership. The author's 20 years of assessing, coaching, and developing leaders provided the grist for the book, which offers readers a shortcut to self-improvement. I found the book to be most helpful and right on target. I recently undertook a year-long project in which I found the advice about generating enthusiasm to be particularly on the mark. Dozens of volunteers came to feel a genuine ownership as we exceeded all our goals on time and within budget. While "Vital Truths" is a quick read, it will take some re-reading and pondering to fully examine the wisdom of Roselle's insights, and a lifetime to fully understand the true message.

Lifechanging Message,
By A Customer
This review is from: Vital Truths: The Secret to Living and Leading Wholeheartedly (Paperback)
I have never found a book on leadership that could speak to my heart...until now! Dr. Roselle's message get's down to the foundation, not only of how to be a wholehearted leader, but also how to be a wholehearted human being. The straight-forward writing style and delivery of the truths in this book give the impression that you are receiving advice from a friend, not from a psychologist. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt defeated by a lack of passion at work or in life in general.
