FREEZE THEM,

I had tried these from a health store and I was not impressed but they are so filling and hey kicked my sweet tooth that I sacrificed taste. I decided to stock up on some nosh items for exam week and I chose this big box.
First off...the ones from the factory are A BILLION times better than the ones I bought off the refrigerator shelf in the health store...I took one bite and I was sooo impressed i had to call family members. I think the difference is that the store did not store them as directed, simply refrigerating them when they are to be FROZEN immediately!!! trust me....i think it makes all the difference between a moist delicious treat and a dry fibrous diet cake.

I've used these in the past as a sort of hunger-stopper. The muffins have fiber and some flavor--especially the chocolate ones--but they also have a strange undertaste/aftertaste. When I've taken them to family gatherings, most members say they're awful, and the kids spit them out. But those of us who are older and like to be regular and not have big calorie treats will eat these.
Don't expect real muffin flavor. These have a lot of odd ingredients (see the list). Consider these a diet aid--filling and vitamin-enriched. With milk, the chocolate ones are adequate. But I've tried the sugar-free (oh, my gosh, horrible) and the corn muffins (not very good) and the apple berry bran (also not very good). I can only safely recommend the chocolate varieties. Those seem to have enough cocoa and chips to cover up the weird taste. It's a useful food for those times when you have to have something "cakey" without killing your points quota for the day (for you Weight Watchers folks.) If you must try Vitamuffins or Vitatops, the chocolate is definitely the way to go. This sampler (with free shipping) is probably your best bet. And trust me--have with milk or latte. That helps. :) M

I'm a long-time lover of Vitatops, and really enjoyed the sampler box. Except for the peanut butter flavored ones, which weren't to my taste, everything was delicious. I love the rich chocolate taste and the fresh texture. I also love that these things (both the Vitatops and the Vitabrownies) are a good size for being only 1 Weight Watchers point.
My favorites from the sampler box were the ones with the pomegranate bits inside. Very, very tasty. Remember -- when the box arrives, put everything in the freezer! If you don't freeze Vitatops, they'll get stale fast. When you are ready to eat one, pop it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. I just leave the wrappers on when I microwave them. Also, if you top a warmed up Vitatop with some low-cal ice cream, it makes a fantastic healthy substitute for a brownie sundae.
