2.0 out of 5 stars not so good
I anxiously looked forward to my deep chocolate vitalicious muffin tops. When they arrived they were thawed and even though I put them in the freezer right away they tasted stale when I tried them later. I would not order these again unless I was assured they would stay frozen during shipping.

I love the deep chocolate vita top muffins. I found them in the freezer section at Meijer one time and decided to try them. They are only 1 weight watcher point and they really curb my chocolate cravings. I got a coupon code from [...] and ordered some other flavors from the vitalicious website. So far, deep chocolate is my favorite. It is the most moist of all the chocolate flavors. Also, by ordering through Amazon.com, I can bypass the huge shipping fee that the actual website charges. Even with coupon codes, Amazon has been the cheapest way for me to purchase these muffins...After posting this review, the cost of the muffins has increased enough so that it is no longer cheaper to order them online. Buy them from your grocery store instead.

I too LOVE these muffin tops. Two additional pieces of information you need to know: 1) they need to be FROZEN when you get them, because they have no preservatives (the box does tell you that in big letters!) - so be sure you have room for them in your freezer first! and 2) they are a bit dry right out of the pkg but if you microwave them for just 20 seconds- right in their sealed package and right out of the freezer- they are moist and delicious. Also, the chocolate is fantastic with a skinny cow cheese spread on top- tastes like chocolate cheese cake. Same with a tiny dab of peanut butter on a warm chocolate one- reminds you of a Reese's cup! I'm on WW and this is a point friendly wonderful snack that is helping me lose wt by satisfying chocolate cravings. Highly recommend!!!

I LOVE these muffin tops! If you are on a low-calorie diet, these are the perfect way to get in your chocolate craving without blowing your calorie bank. Not only do they taste great, they keep you full and satisfied for hours. These muffins have been a huge part of my 50 lb weight loss over the last 8 months.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly yummy-no cheaper here, March 30, 2010
This review is from: Vitalicious Deep Chocolate Vita Tops , 2-Ounce Units (Pack of 24) (Grocery)
I am not a fan of diet, low cal foods that mimic high fat snacks (like snackwells...) but these are fabulous. I discovered while on WW as they are only 1 pt. The key is the fiber. You can't taste it at all, but it makes them so filling. One of these is more filling than a full size muffin which justifies the price. Instead of thinking of it as a box of four snacks, think of it as four full size bakery muffins. I don't eat as a snack but as a meal. For breakfast just one is enough. For lunch add a yogurt and you are full all afternoon. The chocoloate is my favorite by far - tastes almost like a brownie. No diet food aftertaste at all. I recommend heating in the microwave instead of the toaster. The texture is better that way. Since they are pricey, I came to Amazon to see if it would be cheaper than the grocery store. Nope. About the same. Wait for a sale then stock up. Harris Teeter has them $1 off occasionally. I would give the product 5 stars, but I gave it 4 stars for the amazon pricing not making it worth inconvenience of having them shipped.

4.0 out of 5 stars Delicious but small, February 13, 2009
This review is from: Vitalicious Deep Chocolate Vita Tops , 2-Ounce Units (Pack of 24) (Grocery)
I've really enjoyed all the VitaMuffin products that I have tried so far and the Deep Chocolate Vita Tops are no exception. They are the perfect compromise between nutrition and great taste. Even though the nutritional profile is impressive all you taste is great chocolately flavor and satisfaction. Most "diet" foods don't do it for me when it comes to zapping chocolate cravings, but these muffin tops are the exception to the rule. When warmed the gooey chocolate chips taste delicious and enhance the chocolate flavor. I find them to be much more enjoyable to eat than an energy or meal replacement bar and often much lower in calories too.

Those on a diet (especially weight watchers) will appreciate that these do not pack a caloric punch making them perfect for those days when you want a sweet treat or a filling snack but do not have a lot of calories or points to spare. I also appreciate that they are fortified with so many vitamins and minerals since I am terrible at remembering to take my vitamins. I typically eat them as a snack, but they would also be great for breakfast with a side of fresh fruit or scrambled egg whites.

As delicious as these muffin tops are there are a couple of downsides. First is the size. Weighing in at 2 oz they are actually pretty small so I have to consciously slow my eating down to avoid chomping them down in two seconds (and I am usually a slow eater). Additionally, you pay for the great taste, convenience and nutritional profile of these muffins. They are definitely much pricier than making your own. However, after making healthy muffins for myself for years I have still been hard pressed to make one with the nutritionals of these.

As long as you don't mind the cost and the size I highly recommend these delicious muffins.

This product is delicious. I have a hard time finding them in the grocery stores so its a perfect solution to have a large supply of them shipped right to your house. These are the perfect PICK me up for an afternoon snack during work. They are individually wrapped so they are easy to grab and go in the morning. I also love the fiber - 6Grams!! Packed with good vitamins and only 100 calories. I highly suggest these little guys, a wonderful alternative to a sugary snack. I have all my co-workers hooked :)

5.0 out of 5 stars my 2 year old son loves these!, November 22, 2008

This review is from: Vitalicious Deep Chocolate Vita Tops , 2-Ounce Units (Pack of 24) (Grocery)
My son is 2 1/2 and he is an extremely picky eater. I was nervous about the fact that he doesn't get his vitamins (and refuses to take even the gummy ones). Another parent recommended that I try these for my son. They are so full of vitamins. So I tried the chocolate (I have never tried any other flavors). My son actually loves these. He has one every morning and asks for his cookie. At least I know that he has his vitamins for the day, so when he doesn't want to eat or only wants something like mac and cheese I don't have to worry as much. I tried them, to me they taste a bit like a choco cookie without too much sugar. For my son, I will continue to buy these, as long as he keeps liking them.

Good "healthy" snack for those of us who need a chocolate fix. Easy to prepare (provided you have a toaster and microwave, or patience), satisfying, and better for you than Little Debbie cakes or M&Ms. Note that they don't come frozen, and you need to freeze them within 24 hrs of receipt.

These are good. Fiberific! I just wish they could have a few more chocolate chips on the top of them. They still taste like chocolate!
