Oily and a little yucky,

I do not recommend this vitamin. It is certainly an improvement on trivisol (full of flavors and colors and everything else you don't want to put in your baby), however you have to use a lot of it, and it often made my daughter spit up so I'm not sure if she got much of it anyway. I'm also not sure if it is advisable to use corn oil in an infant? Not sure about that. There is a much better supplement out there called Baby D Drops by Carlson Labs, and you only need ONE DROP (put on a nipple or pacifier) for baby to get 400 IU of vitamin D. That product worked much better for us.

This product is great! My son has no problem taking this vitamin. There is no yucky taste or smell, it is a bit oily, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He is strictly breastfeed and only needs the Vitamin D Supplements which is why this is perfect!A must for every breastfed child!

Vitamin D is the only vitamin recommended for breastfeeding babies (except iron after 6 mo) and it is difficult to find it without other vitamins in the forumla. This is a great product. Very oily though.

This product was a great find, for all the reasons mentioned by other reviewers. I'd just add that while it is oily (makes sense, seeing as the vitamin is suspended in oil) it works well if mixed into infant cereal -- it also helps the texture of the cereal. It does not work well mixed into formula or breast milk, because it will float to the top of the bottle and probably not get consumed.

Great alternative to Enfamil's icky product,
This review is from: Just D Vitamin D supplement drops for infants and children (Health and Beauty)
As our pediatrician recommended Enfamil's Poly-Vi-Sol when our son was 2 months old (a breastfed baby) we went out and promptly bought it, assuming it was the best thing out there. We were wrong! That product has artificial colors, flavors, extra vitamins they don't need, not to mention that if you taste it (I did) it kind of numbs your mouth!!So, we found these vitamin drops and besides the fact that they are oil-based (which my son doesn't love but he doesn't spit it out, either) these drops are perfect. Only what we need, and nothing artificial. I highly recommend these to anyone purchasing Poly-Vi-Sol who only needs the Vitamin D.

Pleased with purchase,

I am pleased with this purchase. I wasn't happy with the vitamin supplement our ped had recommended since it had other vitamins other than D. Our little one seems to take this one okay. It was mailed quickly, too!

When my doctor told me to start giving my baby Vitamin D drops, I went to the store and picked up the Enfamil brand. After looking over the ingredient list, I was shocked at the number of artificial colors and flavors in the vitamin drops. So I went on a search for something free of all that. I found this product and have loved it.Yest it's a bit oily, but it doesn't keep my 5-month-old from swallowing it. And I tasted it because I'm not going to give my daughter something I haven't tried. It doesn't have much of a taste to it at all. I've been very happy with this product and so thankful to find something not loaded down with artificial colors and flavors!

We love it and use it every day. Our daughter doesn't flinch when we feed it to her. It seems to go down easy!

Much much better than "D Vi Sol",
This review is from: Just D Vitamin D supplement drops for infants and children (Health and Beauty)
We had bought Just D Vitamin drops at our health care center's pharmacy, and our son loved them. (As someone else noted, the oily-ness is necessary because Vitamin D is a fat-soluble substance; it just doesn't dissolve well in water.)We ran out, and I was surprised that I couldn't easily get the Just D Vitamins at our local drugstores, so I broke down and bought the D Vi Sol instead, though we haven't liked this company's products in the past. My son flat out refused to take as much as a drop, and when I tasted them myself, I gagged. I had assumed that they were the same simple formulation as Just D, and I was pretty surprised when I read the label. It's crazy that you can add all that extra stuff, for the actual purpose of making something more palatable to kids, and end up with something totally disgusting. I'm bummed that Amazon is no longer offering Just D drops!! Does anyone know why?

I didn't know how good these were until I tried the others,
This review is from: Just D Vitamin D supplement drops for infants and children (Health and Beauty)
My infant likes these drops a lot, and my pediatrician recommended them. You can get 10% off an order of multiple bottles on the manufacturer's website. I wasn't thrilled about feeding my baby so much corn oil, but then I tried the Enfamil D Vi Sol--yuck! While my son will take the Enfamil drops straight from a medicine dropper, they have a very strong smell (and taste) and if I add them to food he won't eat the food. Can't say I blame him! This is not a problem with Just D, which has a very mild taste--you only taste the corn oil.
