5.0 out of 5 stars Good things come in small packages
The quality of this container is just as nice as the taller version that came with the blender I just bought. I happen to prefer this handle to the larger container (also clear plastic) because it's rounded while the taller one has squared edges so it's not as comfortable of a grip as this one. But those are minor differences, it's really a non-issue.

The rubberized lid to this container is not the same as the lid you get with the 64-oz container so if you ever see this container sold without the lid don't think that you can use the 64 oz lid with it. But you can use the same tamper (as long as it's the newer model). I'm mentioning this because I almost made the mistake of ordering the mini-tamper thinking I would need it with this shorter container. That's why the two aren't sold together, the new design of tamper works for both containers.

My wife and I use this smaller container for whole fruit drinks and smoothies. It also fits under our kitchen cabinets on the counter top.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, February 1, 2010

I love it. The previous container I owned was tall(64). This 32 is the perfect height! Much easier to store!

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for single person., August 25, 2011

I bought a new Vitamix blender.. The large container on motor does not fit under cabinet. I almost bought the middle size but decided (since I had the large one already) to get small. I am VERY glad I did. First, the lid on the smaller one is easier to remove than large. Secondly, the tamper that came with large works with small container as well (by design). If you buy the medium size you have to buy separate tamper.

The smaller one must be a slightly newer design too, the rubber flaps on the lid are a bit softer and thus much easier to remove than large one. I live alone and the smaller size is perfect and easier to wash. It was cheaper to buy via Amazon since S&H was free.

The ONLY reason I don't give it five stars is the price... for $500 I should have gotten both containers and not had to fork out another $129 for smaller size. Its worth it, but I cannot give it five stars for being so much more expensive than everything else out there. Cost .vs. value must be a factor, else these ratings are worthless as comparison.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great size - Great Vitamix quality., September 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am really enjoying this 32oz container and have found it to be an invaluable addition to my Vitamix 5200. Like others have stated, the measurement increments printed in black on the side of the container have been very handy. I can easily measure right into the container instead of getting a measuring cup dirty. Yes, the larger container that came with my Vitamix has measurements but, to tell the truth, before I looked at this one I never even noticed because they are too 'tone on tone' to easily see/use.

I also really like the way that the bottom part fits inside of the four prong things on the base of my Vitamix 5200 so it seems even more steady than my original container that goes outside the prongs. I use both, but I am very pleased that I got this one too. It's nicer to have a smaller container for many of the things I make.

One more thing - For others who may be curious, as was I because it was not addressed, the tampers that come with both sizes of Vitamix 5200 (either the 48oz or the 64oz) work with this smaller container. The tamper for the 48oz, which is the one I have, is perfect and the newer tamper for the 64oz, with the step, also fits. I understand that an older tamper for the 64oz (tall) containers didn't have the step, so that one would be too long.

My only problem (and it's NOT with the container itself so I didn't deduct for it) is that, in the description here, they say that it has a 5 year warranty. I talked to the people at Vitamix and they told me that the containers only have a one year warranty (as opposed to the 7 year warranty of the unit). That is not an issue for me, but I think it is noteworthy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, June 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Needless to say after spending 400 bucks on my Vitamix I was less than anxious to shell out an extra $130 for the 32oz. container but I just couldn't help myself.

The 64 oz. container is just big enough to make rinsing it a bit of a hassle (lazy I know) and it is beyond overkill when I am just looking to make a quick protein shake with 8-10 ounces of liquid.

I mainly use my Vitamix to make green smoothies and while people normally recommend around 32 oz. of green smoothies per day I just don't want to drink 32 oz. in one sitting and I don't like drinking the same "flavor" twice per day - instead I prefer to make two separate smoothies of about 16-20 ounces twice per day and the 32 oz. container is just perfect for that.

The only other thing I really use my Vitamix for is to make a peanut sauce and even with a rubber spatula getting it out of the 64 ouncer is a bit of a chore so I look forward to making it in the smaller container.

I was also probably try to make Guacamole with my vitamix again as a result of this purchase - the one time I tried it in the 64 oz it proved to be too cumbersome to ever do it again.

A final note: I love the black lettering on the container - it makes it much easier to use the container to measure.

I got this as a additional container to have for my gardening compost....I wish the handle was the nice one that you can get with the original blender....you know, the one that comes in the box with the motor. This will suffice though. I LOVE my VITAMIX... i use it everyday!

I just replaced the one I had for 19 years because someone dropped it ... The lid is easier to put on than my old one (both are easy) and it does not come with a tamper but I have one anyway. Note; be careful not to buy the small container if you are looking for large...this is the large...I did not know they made a smaller one.

This review is from: Vitamix Eastman Tritan Copolyester 64-Ounce Container with Wet Blade and Lid (Kitchen)
I assumed that this would be the same container that came with the original blender. It wasn't. The main thing that was different was that this doesn't have the "soft handle". At first I thought I had received an incomplete container because it just doesn't look right without the soft handle.

There are 2 main differences between this and the one that came with my blender:

First, the pitcher doesn't have the rubber(ized?) handle that the original had. The bare handle is only a little uncomfortable. However the rubber in the handle helped to keep the original container+lid from being too top heavy when close to empty. This container is too light and very top heavy.

Second, the lid is a bit different. The 2 "flaps" on the sides to lock the lid on are much shorter and they don't lock on to the container as easily. You have to press fairly hard to get them to slip over the lip on the top of the container to lock on the lid. It's a good thing the blender base is so heavy otherwise it would be fairly easy to tip everything over trying to lock the lid on.

Other than these 2 points though, the container is quite sturdy and seems to have the same quality blades.
It also works without any problems on my current base.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vitamix 32-ounce container at a lower price, December 7, 2011

I love my Vitamix. I use it practically everyday. But I was looking for the smaller 32-ounce container with the wet blade for smaller quantities at a less expensive price. I found it here on Amazon and am very satisfied with my purchase.
