A little Messy but it does WORK,
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
After fighting recurring yeast infections for years, I had truly tried everything! A change of diet helped some (cut back on yeast, wheat and sugars), but all the prescription and OTC meds did was irritate the tissues worse, and yogurt and probiotics never really helped much. It seemed I was always itchy and frustrated. I do not have any serious medical conditions, but am sensitive to antibiotics and am perimenopausal.
Someone online recommended these herbal blend/boric acid suppositories, so I did a little research and decided to try them. Within 4 days, I was symptom free! I used them for the full recommended 14 days, and had only mild irritation of my vaginal tissues toward the end of the cycle- a little Aquaphor soothed it immediately. Now at the slightest sign of recurrence (seems to be hormone-related and monthly), I just use these for a day or so, and I'm back to normal! The only drawback is that that you do need to use a protective sanitary pad, as the herbs do "leak" somewhat. Also, some women might find insertion a little odd at first (the instructions could be more detailed) , but the trick is to insert as deeply as possible- if it's too shallow, the disintegration may irritate the sensitive skin, and certainly is not reaching the important areas of yeast growth. I love this product, and believe it is the best treatment for common and frequent yeast infections caused by benign conditions.

HORRIBLE!!!! New formula does not work!,

This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FOR THE OLD FORMULA!!!!!!!
I suffer from frequent bacterial vaginosis and have used Yeast Arrest for years. The old formula came in capsule form and cleared my symptoms within two days, although I would continue use for about 5 days to be sure. It was awesome and worked better than any antibiotics or prescription ointments. THEN the company decides to change the formula. The new formula is HORRIBLE. It comes in a waxy form and smells absolutely horrible--a combination of Pine Sol and gasoline. I could handle the smell if it actually worked like the old formula, but it doesn't. I won't ever buy this product again. I now have to resort to making my own suppositories. I'm so upset that Vitanica ruined the only thing I relied on for relief of vaginal infections.

This product really helps with yeast infections!,
By womanwithanswers (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
I've had chronic yeast infections for months and Yeast Arrest has reduced my symptoms by 95%. I have tried over-the-counter medicines, prescriptions, and other natural products and this one has been by far the most effective. It's almost important to mention here that I believe this product has worked as well as it has because I reduced my refined sugar intake and have been eating more veggies and whole grains. I haven't given up all sugary foods and desserts, but I am definitely more careful and aware of what I eat than I was before. The clearing of chronic yeast hasn't happened overnight and has required a change in eating habbits, but I credit Yeast Arrest with making my health (and life) a whole lot better : ) I strongly encourage anybody having problems with yeast to try out this product.

New Formula -Doesn't Work Anymore,
By
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
The positive reviews are for the old formula. The old formula was great and was the only thing that worked for me when prescriptions and other remedies hadn't. Unfortunately the company just changed their formula and it is completely different now. Instead of being boric acid based capsules- it is more homeopathic and full of oils in the form of a greasy suppository. It puts off a very strong smell that is really embarrassing (because others can smell it to.) But worst of all- it just doesn't work anymore, which is really a shame since the old product was so effective. If you need boric acid capsules- you'll have to make them yourself now, as this company was the only one I had found who sold them online. If anyone knows of another- please comment!

Strong stuff...a little too strong for me,
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
I was diagnosed with a yeast infection after they did a culture test and I figured I'd try this since it's natural and people gave it good reviews. However it turns out I'm too sensitive for this treatment. I used the suppositories twice a day like it instructed but only used it for 4 days because by then I literally could not put a suppository it--I became so irritated and inflammated that there was no way I could even fit that tiny suppository in. I even used an opened vitamin E gel capsule to cover the suppository to heal the irritation and lubricate it every time. Since I wasn't able to finish the treatment, I wasn't completely cured. Just a little warning: natural does not always mean gentle.

The new formula is HORRIBLE,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
I have been on Amazon for years and this is the first time I've written a review. This new formula is just so bad that I feel like I have to chime in with the other ladies and warn any new people. The OLD formula was fantastic. I have menstrual-related yeast/BV. Most months I am fine, but once in a while something will flare after my cycle. The old formula easily took care of that within days. Even though all over the women's forums, there were cries of women who tried the new formula and failed, I still ordered it. I followed the directions and took the entire course. It did absolutely no good. Nothing happened positively, it only took a turn for the worse. I had to go back to messy creams and then to metro after BV developed. The old formula took care of BOTH BV and yeast. Ladies, please don't waste your money on this new product. If you don't believe me. You can google the new reviews and see in various forums that it has failed more ladies than it has helped. I've resorted to making my own boric acid capsules which you can order through Amazon.

Change back to old formula!,
By
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
I used to use Yeast Arrest when it still had the old formula with the 600mg boric acid, and it worked great. Before YA, I got my boric acid suppositories from a pharmacy, but was happy to find a cheaper alternative with YA. THEN they changed the formula to include a bunch of different oils and ingredients I've never even heard of. Boric Acid isn't even an active ingredient anymore! The new stuff was messier to insert and it burned so badly! I almost couldn't sleep that night because it felt like my insides were on fire. I never got that reaction from the old formula. Unless Vitanica changes back to the old formula, I will never purchase this product again. I guess it's back to the expensive pharmacy suppositories.

cover all your bases! yeast overgrowth is pervasive,
By
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
While I understand people are upset about the yeast arrest formula being changed, I never used that one, so I can only comment on the new formula. I have had chronic yeast infections for 10 years, and the only thing that ever worked was long course boric acid with backup around my period, and a VERY strict Anti Candida Diet.
The best relief was from pharmacy blended boric acid, the kind they mix with oil-base and shape into a torpedo. I made my own for six months from medical grade boric acid powder (be careful what you buy on amazon! What I bought here was NOT medical grade!) with double 00 capsules (which I think are way too big) which dealt with my symptoms but made me bleed twice after being on it once a day for a 9 pr 10 days. I have been using the new Yeast Arrest formula five days before and after my period to take care of the mild itching that can turn into a fire if I don't eat perfectly. After my homemade boric acid pills (which burned and gave me uterine-aches), I find it to be a soothing, gentle salve. I find the greasy runoff/discharge to be a welcome, lubricating change to the absolutely awful runoff from homemade capsules. If things get worse, I turn back to my homemade pills (but i coat my vulva with vitamin e oil to stave off the burning) Two things that make it easier: refridgerate it for ten to fifteen minutes before you pop it in, and use a plastic applicator, (the kind that comes in an vaginitis suppository lotion works fantastic,) to get it up as far as your body will allow to prevent runoff. Also, since I'm saying what works for me, I will say that if I relied on boric acid alone, I fear my vagina would fall out! It's AMAZING don't get me wrong, but if you are making it yourself, it is very strong and hits your vagina all at once when the capsule melts instead of releasing gently over time, like pharmacy mixed suppositories or Yeast Arrest. AND most imporantly, I don't rely on suppositories alone. The Anti Candida Diet is very important for long term regulation, and I also take Acidophilus/Bifidus Flora and Pro Ent 2 Plus herbal supplements (with rosemary, scutellaria, and oregano to fight the infection) EVERY DAY, sometimes I use the flora capsules as a suppository to lay down positive flora, and I also do a sitz bath with Braggs unfiltered, unpasturized apple cider vinegar in the five days preceding and following my period. If you have bad yeast that is resistant to over the counter and percription medicine, it is unfortunately a lifestyle changer (from my experience) but there are ways to get it under wraps. From my experience there is no one magic fix. Obviously I am very passionate about this, I will get off my soap box. Good luck! Good health!

Cured my frequent infections!,
By med student (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yeast Arrest - 28 - Suppository (Health and Beauty)
I highly recommend this for anyone who suffers from frequent vaginal yeast infections. I had severe, medication-resistant infections every few months until using this product and now I have not had any for almost 6 months! Any sign of recurrence and I just use these suppositories for a few days.
Please see your doctor if you are having recurrent yeast infections - it is important to get tests showing that this is indeed a yeast infection, and that you don't have some other problem (like diabetes).

this is the NEW formula and it is AWFUL,
By Alessia L "Alessia L" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews

Stay away from this product. The raving reviews are indeed for the old formula. This new formula is awful. I had been using the old formula for years and then they suddenly changed it and it is AWFUL. The smell of this congealed cream is horrendous--smells worse than gasoline and it leaves a mess everywhere. Moreover, IT WORSENS AND EXACERBATES the yeast infection. I e-mailed Vitanica's customer service informing them how awful the new formula was and begging them to return to the old formula. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. I ended up purchasing the old formula on ebay. You're better off making your own boric acid capsules than wasting your money on this product.
STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! I guarantee you it DOES NOT work. |
