Poorly written, poorly edited and full of pompous opinions., April 22, 1999

This review is from: Viva Panama: A New Sea-Level Canal (Paperback)
Viva Panama; A new sea level canal is a poorly written and poorly edited book. The author cribs from a number of recognized sources and tries to present it as original work. The book is, in fact, a combination of some history and some reminiscing by an author whose attitudes seem to make him a stereotypical "Ugly American". The title promises a discussion of a new sea-level canal. In fact, only a few pages in an epilogue are actually devoted to the subject. The pages detail the author's opinions and document hearsay he has heard. No research, study or even informed opinion about the subject is presented. Don't buy this book.
