I was really disappointed! Didn't expect color on my B/W Kindle, BUT thought I would get it in color on my iPad! Nope! The instructions are great and clear but no guide to what I am sure are the best colors that show off the blocks is missing with the Kindle Version. Pay the extra and get the book.

I bought the kindle version without thinking. The entire book is in black and white, nothing in color. That is a major drawback for a quilt book. The rating refers to the kindle version, not the real book, which i know for a fact to be in color!

When looking for a book with pictures of some of the tile floors I saw during a recent trip to Italy/Sicily so that I could create a memory quilt with the designs, I saw a review on this book so thought I'd leave the math/design work to someone else and am happy I did so. Many of the quilts have a 3-dimensional look but have quick piecing techniques and are much simpler than they appear. I plan to purchase batik fabrics and recreate at least two of the quilts in the book.

This book is full of beautiful quilts that are earthy and complex, yet very doable for the average quilter out there. You've got to try this book.

Christine Porter's new quilt book,"Viva Venezia" is absolutely wonderful. Her patterns, taken from floor tile are creative and beautiful. Kudos to Christine!
