If you didn't quite catch that, that's ok. It really does help a lot to know some german if you want to get into this band, but their music is just plain awesome anyways. This is yet another great album from the "fantastischen Vier". I would say that "E.I.N.S." and "Schwarz" are still better albums, but that's just my personal opinion. This is packed with some great rock songs. "Leere Worte" is actually one of the first songs that got me really into these guys (I discovered them when I was studying abroad in Austria, and that song grabbed my attention right away). Also, "Terpentin", "Weit Weg", and "Bin ich nur glücklich wenn es schmerzt" are really good songs. Oh hell, they're all good for the most part. I would say, though, that my absolute favorite off this album is "Der Platz neben mir". This is the longest song, and is one of many songs the band has written in memory of their friend Andreas "Trimmi" Trimborn, who was stabbed to death in a bar fight. This one in particular is a very deep song that reaches out to their long lost friend. Listen to this band, and if you don't like them, listen to them more until you can't get their songs out of your head.

Great album, and so you know, when I looked at the site it mentioned the date to be 2004, and I bought the CD long before then.

Very refined Onkelz who have come a long way with their music and vocals. Same Onkels attitude though. Somebody called it "Broken music for broken people". Viva Lo Tioz deals with raw optimisn as well as with loneliness and memories of the past of a typical delinquent youth, sort of like every Onkels CD has.

I like it a lot.

The Onkelz have done it again and came out with another great album. They come back with their pop punk, rock, metal sound that they have now adopted in the past few cd's. This is probaly the biggest underground rock band from Germany which has had albums in the number 1 spot in the charts without much radio or T.V. airplay.

I like most of the songs and a couple are alright but my favorites would have to be Viva los Tioz, Leere Worte and Der Platz neben mir pt 1 and 2. The lyrics deal with all kinds of things like dealing with the loss of a friend and glorifying themselves and attacking the press which constantly attacks them. Understanding the lyrics would be a plus but if you don't that's okay because you can still rock out to these songs.

This album doesn't disappoint so if you like german rock or rock in general then you should get this cd and their other ones while you can and become a fan.

Most American are not aware of this band (they don't sing in English!) but the Boehse Onkelz are Germany's answer to Metalica. This, their 12th full album (1998), is their most creative effort along with their "Holy Songs" CD (92). Other great Onkelz CDs to sniff out are "The Nice Man" (their debut from 84), "Evil People Evil Music" (85), "Bar Terrorists" (88), "Here Are the Onkelz" (95), "O.N.E." (96) and "Evil Fairy Tale" (2000).
