His playing is as effortless as breathing to him, His Baroque style is in my opinion the finest around today. I highly recommend this cd as well as his recording of the Bach Suites.

Peter Wispelwey continues to amaze me with his great technique and understanding of the music. In other recordings I've found myself skipping through the slow movements. The fast movements were played well, but the slow movements were not. Wispelwey manages to play both the fast and slow with beautiful phrasing and excitement. There aren't many players today that can match this level of playing. The ensemble is great too and follows Wispelwey well. When he gets soft and smooth, they do the same. If you are looking for a recording of the Vivaldi Cello Sonatas I would highly recommend this one.
