Book Description

May 1, 1996
SHE WAS POETRY IN MOTION AND HE WAS DETERMINED TO CLAIM HER!
American heiress Vivian Redmond had anticipated a polite reception in London . . . not stunned, awe-filled stares and delirious gossip. Much to her surprise, she was believed to be the mysterious "Vivid One" revered in Canto IV of Heart's Notions--poetry believed to be penned by none other than Lord Byron himself writing under a pseudonym.
However, Vivian was no demure miss but a spirited minx whose hoydenish ways thrilled the town to no end. It also engaged the wiles of Noel Windram, a rake who could never resist a challenge . . . and could not resist Vivian. As for his lordship, he was an unmitigated roué and she heartily wished him in Hades for his arrogance, even as his embrace gave her own heart some thrilling notions of its own. . . .

Review

American Vivian Redmond and the publication of canto III of Heart's Notions take London by storm at the same time. Unfortunately for the red headed Miss Redmond, London society thinks she is the subject of the canto dubbed "The Vivid One". The canto is surrounded in mystery about the identity of the Vivid One and the poem's author. Everyone presumes it is Byron, and if it is, they assume Vivian is the poet's newest love. She acquires a reputation and attracts gossip through no fault of her own and doesn't like it one bit..Noel Windram, Earl of St. Heiler is exasperated by Vivian and her antics, and attracted to her vivacious good looks. The headstrong, high spirited American is just innocent enough to think she can talk to Byron and make him announce that she is not the one described in the canto. St. Heiler sets out to stop her from causing herself more scandal and in the process, becomes as enchanted with Vivian as everyone else in London. Vivian resents Noel's interference and high handed ways. She spars verbally and sometimes physically at every meeting. The more Noel gets involved, the more he knows he should run the other way. Instead, he gets pulled into her misadventures as they try to solve the mystery of who really wrote Heart's Notions.Emma Jenson delivers vividly outrageous characters and the breath of fresh air those crowded Regency ballrooms needed! Vivid Notions provides the perfect London scandal and a perfect read for Regency fans! Witty and well crafted, Vivid Notions is a delight for the avid Regency reader! When the Earl of St. Heilier decides to tame American Vivian Redmond, the British are once again defeated by the colonies in Vivid Notions! Brush up on your Byron and sit back and enjoy Vivid Notions!Denise Hawkins Camp -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times
