We caught the Vivienne Westwood retrospective traveling show at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, and were blown away by the inventive, fun, nutty clothes this woman produced. This book serves as a exhibition catalog, although many of the pieces in the show are not in the book, and nothing matches seeing the wild shoes, hats, dresses and frocks in person. The book design is a minor annoyance, as it can be a little hard to find the garment pictured, who was wearing it, or when it was created. And I think frankly the girl has her best work behind her, but the glory of it cannot be exaggerated, or, to put it another way, her exaggerations were truly glorious. Over The Top in the very best way.

Thoreau would no doubt disapprove....

What can I say about a legend? This book is wonderful. It is chalk full of cool color photographs of each of Vivienne Westwood's collections. I am one of the biggest fans of Vivienne Westwood and this book is a gem!

This book is very well done with a nice timeless of Ms. Westwood's creations. There are a lot of photos and good information on the collections. Well written. My only objection is that it tends to be a bit "Artsy" so a lot of the photos tend not to show the explicit details of the garments that one wants to see due to shadowing, darkness, blurring for effect, etc. But overall, a wonderful resource!

Book arrived wrapped in the usual cling plastic, however on removing the plastic and turning the book over I noticed a large 2 inch top corner ripped off the top back cover page. Total disappointment as this was to be a gift for a friend with no time for mailing back in time for a return perfect item.

I certainly wont be buying books from this vendor again via Amazon as I cannot understand who would send an item deemed "new" in this condition.

I like how the book covers her collection not only by words but with illustration. The seller was very kind to be able to get my book to me on time.

The purchase of Vivienne Westwood was a gift for my daughter, currently living in San Francisco, for Christmas. It was one on her wishlist, and she was delighted to receive it some days before Christmas. The process of ordering with Amazon was simple and efficient and affordable. As I live in Australia it was very convenient to order online and the seller was from Conneticutt so postage was not expensive. Posting from Australia to the US is exorbitant for parcels. I was originally intending to buy this book new but as there was not one available the "mint" condition of the used book purchased thru Amazon was very satisfactory and actually half the price of a new book. As I haven't personally sighted the book I cannot comment but my daughter is very happy with the content. Question 2 above ............ couldn't seem to fill in the desired rating for some reason, but the rating is "love it"
