Decent, but not outstanding,

Well, I bought this lens for use with my Canon Digital Rebel XT, and I like the fact that it has a relatively large aperture and has focal lengths from 28-210mm. However, the lens had many particles of what appeared to be dust inside of the lens as soon as I took it out of the box. Basically the only way to clean it would be to take apart the lens. It's so bad that it shows up on the pictures that I take. Vivitar tells me that I can ship the lens back to them and they will try to replace it, so I guess we'll see what happens. Oh yeah, I was kinda pissed when I bought the lens for $230 at this very site like three weeks ago and now it is selling for $121. I seriously think that I was the first person to buy one of those lenses in a long time; I mean, the lens's box was covered in dust when I opened the package. Anyways, I guess it will work, but it's not exactly the top of the line. Oh yeah, for those of you who have a silver Digital Rebel XT, this lens in a silver color does not match exactly. The lens's color is more of a champaign tint while the camera is actually silver.
