Well let me first apologise to the company for not removing some negative remarks i left a while ago concerning late arrival of this product. It did eventually arrive and I guess it was the fdault of the Postal Service and not their's.

For the amateur photographer like me who really does not want to invest too big at this time the product is ok. Initially it didnt work at all and the people at the company called me twice long distance to sort that out. They offered a new one right away. Luckily I doodled with it a bit and found the problem. Which brings me to the main fault. It holds 4 AA size batteries but the cover for the compartment is very flimsey. In order to get it to work you have to squeeze the cover inwards so that the poles on the batteries make proper contact with the metal parts on the inside of the cover.

I eventually decided not to send it back an jus use it as is for the few times i may need it. I kinda think it borders on useless but for the price what do you really expect? GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE THOUGH

The cover of the batteries does not make good contact with the batteries so you have to press the cover to make contact. After pressing the cover to make contact several times to be able to use the flash the cover broke... so I was able to use it about 4 times before it broke. Reading other reviews all over the Internet I found out this is a problems this flash has. So unless you want to hold the battery cover of the flash while taking pictures I do not recommend you buy this product. Sadly I will be out of the country too long to return the product.

For the price, this is a great little flash. I have had a lot of fun with it, and will likely get a higher quality nikon flash eventually, but at
less than 30 bucks, its a deal. Slave mode works without fail, at least over past week of testing, also has a test button for "light painting" during
long exposure. A little plastic and won;t last forever, but for the price who cares

this product is not even worth its cheap price. there are issues with the flash not going off when the shutter button is released. do not bother purchasing or even consider this product. horrible piece of machinery.

The flash is great and works very well but I had to refer to the web for a few instructions and tips because the product I purchased did not include instructions with the shipment. I am pretty well versed with these types of camera accessories so it was no big deal. However, if I were a beginner, I would have had a lot of trouble using this item.

An instruction manual is always nice to have.

My first purchas broke easly. Iordered another one knowing I must be more gentile with it I am dissipointed with the way it fits together and the bracket and thumb screws fit together allin all it is flimsy and lackes power

Vivitar is a brand I have been working with since the 1970's. This item did not disappoint.

There was an issue with the first unit. It was quickly taken care of with little effort on my part.

THE FLASH ARRIVED IN WHAT APPEARED TO BE A 30 YEAR OLD BOX. IT WAS RUSTED ON THE METAL PARTS AND DOES NOT WORK. IT WAS ABSOLUTE JUNK.
